Then I propose a meeting for potential players Friday evening in Zurich. A couple of drinks might help us to find a path to thievery or paladinhood
I'm up for that, they don't let me out every friday night but when I don't have to work on that saturday and have no work for friday night then I will try.... I usually have at least 2 chances/month... sometimes 5....

Re: Dungeons and Dragons anyone?

My housemates all bought the beginners box set before I left for switzerland and we were all meant to learn how to play it together! I am a total noob, as in never even sat in and watched a game but really want to get into it, have a little warhammer experience behind me but would love to play for the fun and obviously the social side!

Am in Zurich so would like to join the group if you'll have me

Then for the prospective players. Lets meet at Zurich central station around 1930, the bar next to the newsstand seems a good rally point. We can go somewhere else afterward.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons anyone?

*sigh* No chance this week ... have to go to Dublin for a work conference.

As for buying dice, most stationery stores (Papeterie) will have dice. Some are organised and divided, others just have them all jumbled together in a big box or bucket on a shelf.

On occasions that I am present, very few people will need to bring their own dice (but I know you will if you can!!) - I collect dice, and have quite a few ... including some interesting ones (some of which cannot be used - like my fluffy dice, and my clock die).

Oh, and Maisie, D&D is pretty quick to pick up - you don't need to have any particular special skills, other than a good imagination. If you have a great DM, even the imagination doesn't have to be that strong ...

I've done a lot of DMing, but at the moment don't think I have the time - with three kids and no extended family around, time away from work is at a premium!
Still, it may work out ... or I can be an assistant to somebody else who has more time to prepare!

No problem I can handle as long you can understand my English! I am not a native speaker so I will probably make some mistake.

Concerning the location, I would gladly invite the players to my place but it is rather far away from Zurich.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons anyone?

It's been nearly a decade since I last played D&D, but if there's a group in Zurich I'd love to join. Like Kaeso I've only done a tiny bit of DMing, so I'd prefer to start out as a player.

Re: Dungeons and Dragons anyone?

Hmm, I've lost track of how many are interested ... perhaps somebody who doesn't mind hosting could start an event in the social events section, and we'll see how many people join up? If so, put a link to it in here so we don't miss it ...

Thanks to anyone who steps up to the plate!

I would mind hosting but I am rather in an unpractical location for people without their own transportation.

If there's a major transport hub near your place, or at least a station / bus stop that's relatively easy to reach, then those without cars can be picked up from there by those who do?

Wohlen but that's really impractical as it is not on a direct line from Zurich. Depending where are living the prospective players we could still look for a place, I was looking for the club in Zurich.
