Hi,
I've got visitors this w/e coming down with a car who is interested in walking (not serious hiking!) somewhere in a country side / mountains / river with no more than 1hr of drive from Basel.

I've been searching online, but a lot of info is in German which I don't understand - can anyone recommend something? I hear Jura mountains are nice, but have no specifics..

Any ideas are appreciated!

Here are some of the ones I have done...all within striking distance of Basel.

Walking Route: Reigoldswil - Hinterewasserfallen

Walking Route: Dielsdorf-Baden

Walking Route: Arlesheim to Pratteln

Walking: Balsthal - Schmiedenhof - Weissenstein

PS. all the walks I listed are reachable via public transport - so you can drink a beer or two after your hike.

The Wasserfallen/Reigoldswil that Nick suggested, has been very appreciated by those of my visitors that have been there. Especially since it is so close by and easy to get there - and on a fine day you have a very nice view over the Alps
