Help Christmas Day - Day out tips?

Hi,
I wonder if anyone might be able to give me some ideas.
Here is my situation:
I am living in Saas Fee, and have a 15 month old baby my husband is a head chef at a hotel here.
On Christmas day he will be working the whole day with no break meaning we will not be able to have christmas day together and i am facing Christmas day here in saas fee with my daughter with not much going on
I can't go and spend it at the hotel because it is fully booked and even if i could i still wouldn't be able to see my husband as he will be so busy and i wouldn't want to get in the way either.
So what do i do? Is there anywhere worth travelling to on christmas day with my daughter?
I just dont want to spend it alone at home mulling over the fact that we are alone.
Hope someone can help
x Becky
ps. Thankyou for renaming my thread hope this helps other people find things to do on Christmas day

Re: Help Christmas Day

Why are you so depressed? You could have a wonderful day with your baby!
Once I was only with my baby during Christmas. My husband was thousand miles away because of work. But I spent nice day with my baby. We sang a songs, had a nice walk outside, we made a cupcakes (it was really fan) and we were happy to make a surprise for daddy. In the evening we switch on the lights on our Christmas tree and we were just happy. Me - because of my healthy and happy child and my baby because she liked the lights on a tree.
Just you must accept his work, don't be so negative and you could make a nice time for your baby. Remember - your baby feel is you are sad and unhappy. Don't do it to your baby. Christmas time is really beautiful especially for babies. And I think that it is hard for your husband also.

Re: Help Christmas Day

Well, you could celebrate Christmas on Christmas eve with your whole family (if he's not working) and just treat Christmas, as Heny said, as a day for you and your baby.

Re: Help Christmas Day

Hi opps,
After reading your comment and then reading my post again it does come across pretty depressing sorry
i had alook at what might be going on on christmas day but most things are closed so after major googling i've come up with an idea of doing a craft day on christmas day as my daughter being so young we havnt got into the whole finger painting or sticking mess yet.
So on christmas day she will be 15 months and i've started putting together a big craft box for her odd stickers, crete paper and empty toilet roll tubes ( i just ran round the house quick looking for things i had) I'm gonna go out with her over the next few weeks and pick up a few nature things before the snow gets them and find a few pots of finger paint then on christmas day clear the kitchen floor and put a big bit of paper down and let her have fun and then give it to daddy as a surprise Christmas pressie her first art work
Sharky, Unfortunatly my husband will be working so much over the whole christmas period and new year and my family are all in uk and his in germany and its very hard for anyone to get to saas fee in the snow :S i'm quite use to being alone for celebrations but it is the first time ive experianced it with a baby and i got a bit freaked out silly me
so hopefully i can make this a christmas with good memorys and hopefully my hubby will get a few hours on the 24th or 27th to do the christmas family thing.
Merry Christmas to all
becky x
