Re: BA Vote to strike

We're quickly superseding the French as a nation of strikers. Given the poor state of the Airline industry as a whole, these strikes by cabin crew seem extrememly ill conceived... they're cutting their own throats.

Re: BA Vote to strike

so they lose 400m in a year, then vote to strike during one the busiest periods of the year, damaging BA's already pretty poor reputation, making people book elsewhere, losing BA even more money. Yep a real smart move.

Well, if the BA/Iberia merger gets approved, the company it will be
registered and tax-domiciled in Spain. Then we can say they again.

Re: BA Vote to strike

Complete bunch of muppets. The slow signs of recovery were slowly starting in the airline business and then this. Makes you wonder what their new bed fellows at Iberia and their long term mistress Qantas think about their negotiation skills and prowess. Well, let's see who is going to be booking their vacation flights on anyone other than Speedbird this season. I can only imagine the sheer delight of every other airline chairman at this news, especially those with airlines flying out of LHR and LGW.

Flying back with them in January, but only the last leg (LHR-ZRH) so hopefully I'll be able to scramble something else if necessary...

I would do but on the way back I am bring my bits and pieces over from my property in the UK. Plus the better half will probably go crazy with the pre-Jan sales.

Re: BA Vote to strike

Three months ago I booked a relative a flight from the US to Switzerland leaving the 21st and arriving the 22nd. At the time I was adamant no BA and no routing through Heathrow. I love it when I'm right

Yes. I am bored and since I will be flying more again next year, I am generally interested in airlines. I have always been in favor of workers rights, but an airline strike over christmas to **** off customers is simply wrong. Even the dumbest employee should get that this will not improve his job safety.

For us filthy rich Zurich crowd, Swiss would remain available as well. However: Now is definitely the time to book fast if you really need some tickets.
