Wow! Looks like paradise! :-) can i get to this place from Basel by train? Looked at the website but looks like charter bus service runs only from Italy.

Try www.sbb.ch to plan your route. Probably about 4hours on the train from Basel though. Best renting a car for the day to do that, otherwise, you'll be too tired to shop once you get there!

Why not try other outlets elsewhere? Like the one in Stuttgart?

yes you can...just take the train to mendrision (check on SBB) then you can either walk to the outlet (around 10-15 mins) or take the bus (2 mins)...

it is certainly a paradise =)

Yes, there a month ago.

Wasn't very impressed to be honest, don't think we bought a single thing actually. We found the range and the sizes pretty limited, although if you want a XXL bright green Polo shirt with a huge horse on it for CHF30, its your place!

Couple of shops that were good though were Hackett and 7 for all Mankind, if that's your thing

I was there in February and it was then 50-70% off!!! For us it was paradise. A lots off things to buy. Ski clothes, handbags, clothes etc etc. But you should make sure to go there when they have their sale! We took the train from Zurich in the morning and returned late in the evening.

I was there a month ago as well. I am not a crazy shopper so we actually looked around a lot before buying anything. Most of the luxury brands have clothes from many seasons ago with questionable taste, but well... If you are patient, there are surely great finds.

For us, jeans like Levi's or Diesel were great buys for fantastic prices... The Ralph Lauren store also had good timeless pieces (like a white button down female shirt for CHF30). I also got Gucci high heels for half the price they originally were, but still expensive, so things vary. Games are a good buy, though... Nice games for PS3 for CHF 20-30 will make my dad happy when I visit him this weekend in Brazil!

Anyway, I found out one needs some patience, but it works out, just make sure you're in one of those days when you don't mind walking and walking around until finding something you actually like.

I was there in Jan this year. North Face had good offers then. Worth visiting once. Make sure that you reach there by 12 - 12:30 Pm so that you have time till 07 pm. I went there by train. Got down at Lugano and took the slow train to Chiasso.

There is one outlet mall at Landquart also, not that huge as foxtown. You may find good deals on CK, Diesel etc.

Been there two or three years ago. Quite disappointing. Spent a whole afternoon and all I found was a pair of pants.

But IME it's always a matter of luck in outlet malls no matter where. Sometimes you're lucky and find some great deals and sometimes it turns out to be a waste of time.

At least the Espresso at the coffee bar was good and inexpensive. I couldn't believe it was only 1.60! Cheapest ever in Switzerland.
