Well, I finally made it to Lausanne (after a delightful 14 hour drive from the UK) and so my first "proper" weekend dawns (last weekend I was so knackered from my first week at work I just collapsed). And so I turn to you lot...

... what can I get up to tomorrow? I've heard there are markets in Lausanne on a Saturday but I've also been told to jump on a train and go elsewhere. What do you think?

Any suggestions/recommendations on things to do gratefully received.

You should try to get to the Olympic Museum in Ouchy. They are planning to close it very soon for TWO years for a major reno and addition of a second building.

Yes the market runs through the downtown area (Place St. Francois, Rue de Bourg, Place de la Palud. Place de la Riponne and up to the Place St. Laurent and beyond).

Take a ride on the M2 metro from Ouchy all the way up to the motorway above Lausanne and back.

Lots to do by just wandering around.

Thanks Verbier - since I haven't got my skiing boots on yet (next season) I thought it'd be a good idea to get around and about Lausanne. I think you're right, wandering around the town until the 6 nations starts will give me plenty of opportunity to see things.
