Winery Day Trip from Geneva

Does anyone know if there is a nice French winery that could be fit into a day trip from Geneva? I have a friend coming to tow for a short visit who would like to do this and I have no idea what the options are.

Thanks for any advice!

Re: Winery Day Trip from Geneva

The main two wine growing regions are La Côte, which is between Lausanne and Geneva, centered around Rolle, and Lavaux, which is between Lausanne and Vevey. Most of the wineries are reasonably small and so are not set up for major tours, and only have open tastings on Friday evenings and Saturdays. However, most of them will be happy to arrange something for any time of the week if you phone ahead. To find out about specific vineyards, you can visit these websites on Lavaux and La Côte.

The Lavaux region is particularly good for strolling through the vineyards on the marked trails overlooking the lake - you can walk for just a few kilometres or all day. The CGN boats also stop at many of the wine towns, so you could include a trip on one of those in your adventure, see the schedule here.

Ahh yes, I missed that part. Is there a difference? Wine is wine to me. I like looking at the fields of grapes, but I'd prefer to be drinking a beer.

Mind you, if you live in Geneva, all you need to do is take the train to Russin(15min) and you'll be surrounded by vineyards.

Nice pictures from Lavaux:

Why do Swiss drink white wine with fondue? Because the red sucks
