Re: Best mobile connection for calls to India

Go for either LycaMobile or Lebara, both of these are for low cost calls to India. Do note that local calls in these are expensive.

Additionally, if you really talk a lot to India, you could do this:
1. Buy a Sunrise phone with Sunrise Flat connection. With this use can call any landline/Sunrise number in CH for 1 CHF per day.
2. Buy a Teleline(www.teleline.ch) flat Calling card at 20 CHF/month, and use it with the Sunrise number. With the Teleline card you can call India as much as you wish to.

So effectively at 50 CHF/month you can call India as much as you like.

Re: Best mobile connection for calls to India

Does it have to be a mobile?

Might be cheaper with a land line or VOIP or skype...

I use lebara to call once a while, otherwise VoiP is the best/cheapest (rynga, etc.)

Re: Best mobile connection for calls to India

Skype is very competitive to these other providers (give or take 1rp) and you don't have to call a number and redial etc, just straight forward calling directly over the internet.

Re: Best mobile connection for calls to India

Why not use www.budgettraife.ch numbers - for India it is:

[Destination Fixed tariff Rp/min Access Number dial-in fee (Rp)

India [landline] Fixed tariff: 4 0840 55 66 39 0
India [Mobile] Fixed tariff: 4 0840 55 66 39 0

Cheaper than Swisscom etc.

Another option for you:
www.calleasy.com 2 cents per minute to India. You can do it with every provider. If you use Swisscom, then you can have the Natel liberty start and pay 19 CHF / month + 0.70/hr for the fixed landline calls. So 1 hour talk with India will cost you 1.9 CHF (excluding the fix fee of 19 CHF).
