What an absolute fiasco, I've had no service since yesterday afternoon and according to reports, I'm not alone.
I've never thought about it before, but why is it that all our emails and browsing have to be routed via a RIM server in Slough, UK? this isn't the case with other enterprise handsets e.g. iPhone, Android, Windows etc.. and secondly, has RIM been mortally wounded by this, because their legendary reliability and robust network has been laid bare?

Actually, the hops are far more fun that than - your BES, Swisscom's and then the RIM NOC which is indeed in the UK. I reckon it's to keep tabs on licencing.....
That's good to know that I am not the only one with not properly working Blackberry for already two days (actually couple of weeks ago there was the same sh*t during the weekend)

I called him and asked him - I didn't catch it all, but he did say something about "Flackberry Buckers" and that he "wouldn't be Dean Sucking Fed with Juan"

So that users have to buy a "Blackberry Service" provided by them as opposed to internet access that can be provided by any cellular carrier.
Cannot believe that it has taken until yesterday evening before Orange CH sms'd that there are problems and they will notify again when all services are available... I've had problems since Monday just after 1pm.
I did sms back saying thatthere message was 2 days late and asking what the compensation will be...not holding my breath on that one!
