Help on buying voltage transformer in ZH

I'm at my wit's end trying to find a voltage transformer in the Zurich area (for my food processor that I stupidly shipped w/o getting a transformer in the US). It must be a step-up/step-down with a 1000W capacity. That 1000W requirement is the sticking point - I can't find any store or swiss online retailer that sells more than ~350W capacity (even @ Pusterla, which someone recommended in a previous post). There's plenty to be had online at Amazon.de, but Amazon and other foreign online retailers won't ship the item to Switzerland . Can someone help? Anyone have one they want to sell??

You can´t post an advert now ( min. 10 posts ) but here is a dated thread with some information within CH:

Step-Down Transformers (for US appliances on 220v)

This place in Zürich city near Helvetiaplatz should be a good one to try:

How about airport? I was once asking around and was directed to go to airport and buy my transformer from there.

Am not sure the airport sells them with the 1000W capacity.

We've definitely had Amazon(.com) stuff shipped to Switzerland, so perhaps you could re-check that?

Although for the most part, especially for EU-sourced (and tax-paid) things, it's easier and cheaper to get them shipped to our French place.

Re: Help on buying voltage transformer in ZH

To clarify: I know Amazon ships to Switzerland, I use it regularly - the problem is that certain items (as set by customs regulations) won't ship to Swiss addresses. This is often a problem w/ electronics and big-brand stuff (Adidas shoes, for instance). Same holds for the transformers...

Re: Help on buying voltage transformer in ZH

I have a 2KVA 240-120v stepdown with 50-60hz step up sitting around. It's a monster though and weighs about 80kg so probably not something you want in the kitchen.
