I'm looking for an authorized Apple shop to repair my Macbook Pro. I prefer Vevey but Lausanne is fine too.

I actually searched the web and this forum for a list of authorized Apple repair providers in Lausanne and couldn't find anything. Maybe the info is in French so I missed it.

My 0-9 keys do not work. I have to use the onscreen keyboard and it's driving me crazy.

I know there are lots of shops that hang signs that say they sell Apple products but how will I know if they are actually trained at doing repairs.

This website seems to be only for schools. Computer sales are only for those that are staff or students so I have a feeling that repairs fall in the same category.

The Apple website only helps you if your computer is still under warranty.

When my Iphone4 broke, I called the Zurich Apple Store and was transferred to their repair department. I told them my phone had broken. They sent me an envelope with postage paid via UPS, and told me to send the phone back in with UPS. I asked UPS to pick it up the next day so I could fill out the forms and get it read, they did. Three days later I had a brand new IPhone4 delivered by UPS, It was quite easy.

Are you sure you need a repair center? I had something similar with my MacBook and did a MVRAM reset I believe it's called and the keys started working again.

There is this place in Yverdon and Neuchâtel, only 20 and 40 minutes respectively from Lausanne. I haven't used the Yverdon branch, but in Neuchâtel they are very helpful.

There's an apple retailer shop in Lausanne, in the Place centrale next to Payot bookshop. It's called Artcomputer.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try the shop in Lausanne first. I considered resetting the PRAM or whatever they call it. Since this computer doesn't have vital files, I actually formatted it today to see if that would fix the problem. The keys still don't work.

My kid accidentally spat out water on the keyboard when he was laughing at something and that's when the keys stopped working.

I have a preference for Memoire Vive, they have taken good care of mine and my friends' equipment. They are right by Riponne, in front of the Valentin bus stop.

I'm probably too late but I have had my Macs repaired a twice at the mac shop (MacS - authorized reseller) just south of the train station on the Boulevard Grancy 40. They are really nice, it's a small shop and they've always been super helpful.

Both MacS and Memoire Vive are very good.

Memoire Vive seems to have been around for ages now!
