Hi there
I work in Basel three days a week and live in St Louis (FR), just over the border. I have been researching mobile phone options as I'm keen to get an iPhone (am currently on prepaid M Budget). It's really hard to work out what's best as I can't seem to find a provider that offers a package with good rates in both countries. M Budget contracts offer good prices in Switzerland (on the Swisscom network- which I can also get at home), but once you enter the French network, you pay roaming charges which are extortionate.
I came across a company called Transnatel, which offers calls and texts specifically for cross-border workers, whereby you get both a French and Swiss number and can call at local rates, but they don't seem to offer data packages.
Has anyone cracked this one? I've asked around at work as there are lots of people in a similar situation, but there doesn't seem to be one offer that suits everyone, so a lot of people opt to have two phones, which I would rather avoid if possible.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks a lot
