I have been trying to buy some music on Amazon.com (mp3). I understand that you can only do this if you are IN the US and have a US credit card. I am not in the US right now, but use Hotspot Shield as a VPN and have a US CC and mailing address. Have bought plenty of physical goods on Amazon.

So wondering if Amazon recognizes the IP addresses used by Hotspot Shield or if I have some cookies that need to be dumped. I don't want to dump ALL of the cookies that I have, so if you think that this is my problem, could you help me figure out how to dump the Amazon cookies?

Can you not buy the music you want on British www.amazon.co.uk ? It's probably a license problem.

Do you have more than one mailing address listed for your account? Make sure that the US address is the default address. When I do that, I have no problems getting MP3s from Amazon.com.

Download Safari or Chrome or Firefox or Internet Explorer (i.e. one you don't usually use) and do your purchase through that. This way you'll only have to sign on to the service your using - you don't have to worry about losing everything else.

Hi Ziger - I do have about 8 addresses and recently switched my default to an int'l address. Switched the default back to my California address and problem solved...
