Hi,

I am desperately looking for shops that sell waterproof mp3 players or a casing(for ipod nano) with waterproof headphones in Switzerland. Does anyone have an idea where I can find one?

I have found that it can be ordered online but I need it urgently (today or at most by tomorrow) and it would be great if I could just go to some shop and buy it.

Erm the device itself might be water proofed/cased but what about the headphones?

Nono, they do exist. I've even seen MP3 players you can take diving. Not sure who makes them / where to get them though...

I'm quite amazed that someone loves music so much that they cannot do without it while they swim.

Usually with such a casing you also get water proof headphones. I found one which is called h2o interval audio (case + headphone) for ipod shuffle at digitec.ch

I want this for a Nano. If I have to buy the H2o interval, I would also have to buy a shuffle

Not sure where you are in CH, but I'd try in this order:
- fancy sport shop. In Zurich that would be the sport department of Jelmoli, followed by Ochs sport followed by Globus.

- Electronic shop. Since it's an Apple product, I'd check the Apple store, then the Apple retailer next to HB (what's the name again?) and if they don't have it the largest Media Markt you can get to.

I will check these 2 stores today and if not maybe also a biggish mediamarkt. Also found out that h2oaudio Amphibx Waterproof Armband Medium can be shipped in 1 day, but one would also have to buy the waterproof headphones separately.

I tried a few sports/electronic shops on Bahnofstrasse.
I found the speedo waterproof mp3 at Jelmoli (4GB) and Athleticum (1GB). No other shops had it. Didn't bother to check in Mediamarkt.

Finally bought the 4GB one from Jelmoli.

never thought about it, but i guess it would be pretty cool to go swimming/diving with music. better than the pool/ocean noise, imo. not sure how it works with the pressure. i guess if you were really dedicated, you could have some sort of jaw bone implant.

It's for when you train..specifically long distance (some tunes that keep you focused, pumped up, motivated ya know).
