I need an internet connection only for using skype.Which would you advice me between the both?

Cablecom - requires a cable connector at home. Early contract termination ie less than a year has penalties ( check the fine print on the offers ).

Sunrise ADSL - as above

Sunrise USB modem - penalties apply for early termination of the contract min 1 year often 2 years for "bargains" ( search forum for Sunrise Early Termination ).

Don't take sunrise, we have had umpteen problems with it and took ages to cancel....its rubbish.

Cablecom - order online and expect delivery in 7 working days, self install.

Sunrise ADSL - about the same time.

Sunrise USB - visit the Sunrise outlet and take it home immediately.

I dont know about Cablecom-

But had Sunrise for nearly 2 years and resigned from them because I had no more connection.(technical issue from their side!!!)

I was threaten with paying extra charges, etc, etc... Plus the "cancellation service" are telling bul.sh1t on the phone and make false promises.

Honestly they're in another country and offer a terrible service.

Finally after threatening to sue them in writing, it arrived in a Swiss Staff's hands who replied how sorry they are, how they are immediately removing all charges, how it was a mistake from them, etc... Also saying that I have to pay them nothing and that our contract is properly cancelled (due to technical reason) and how i should ignore any new bill(s).

2 months later I got a bill from them charging me for the last month... 60chf something, then reminder that I got a fine of additional 25chf for not paying, etc....

With all the hasle and because I was not 100% sure-- the termination was mid of the month and they were asking me for the "month" (1st to 31st), I paid 60chf---- Stupid but have other priorities.


But I'll never ever recommend SUNRISE to anyone.
By the way since I switched to CITYCABLE from Lausanne, it's sooooo much better, Skype is never disconnecting anymore, the modem/router is stable, etc...

I would go for Cablecom. Many people like to complain about them, but I have always had good service, and the stuff was delivered within 3 days!

In special cases, such as moving abroad etc. try to talk to them, they are actually quite reasonable (more than telecom companies such as Sunrise!). If you are moving house within CH, you can move it with you.

You have to pay billag regardless of provider. If unsure check their FAQ on their website.

Btw - got sunrise Internet at home and it's more stable than what I had before (Swisscom). No experience with cc.

yes but with a cable connected at your home you cannot say you use the pc only at work,with take away yes.

Once you have the internet connected it is possible to connect to or use a radio station or TV = Billag required.

By the way if the authorities get picky and you have a car I assume it has a radio = this also means you are billag liable

fortunately or unfortunately i haven't got a car,i use mobility, car sharing

knowing them Billag w@ankers, they'd probably want you to pay if you so much as hear someone else's radio on the train ...

It is almost impossible to avoid Billag. Most mobile phones also have a radio-option. I think it would be very hard to find a person in CH who does not own any radio or tv-reception device.

However if you're concerned about being checked, just do not open the door to strangers.

i think it's useless not open the door,it's enough for they to have my cablecom bill.The prove is incontestable.
