You cannot buy an latest generation i7 laptop at anything like this price anywhere else.

Go onto Ricardo.ch and search for "i7 laptop". You'll see what I mean. Even second hand i7 laptops cost more than this.


I bought the Samsung i5 laptop back in June. The only thing I didn't like about it - and I'm not sure if this is applicable to today's i7 deal - is that the keyboard feels very plasticy, the speakers are rubbish, and they've slipped in a second "Fn" key inbetween the right-hand CTRL key and the cursor keys. That really drives me mad.

Are you saying big 17'' laptops outsell smaller screened laptops so they have to half price them so that they sell?

I'm just saying once you have a 17" you will probably not be tempted with a 15.6" even for half price

I've had 17'' laptops. I've played with 21'' laptops. I get a sore shoulder lugging them around.

I have a nice big screen for my desktop and I would like a 13'' laptop...although I'm stuck with a 15'' at the moment.

does an inch and a half really matter?

Since it's the diagonal being measured it makes a huge difference to the area of the screen. If you compare a 42'' TV to a 58'' TV although the diagonal is only 16'' bigger...the surface area is about double.

On a good screen, yes... Yes it does.

I have the Samsung 15.6" laptop, and a 17" Apple MacBook Pro.

The MacBook's 17" screen is beautiful. It can fit so much more on, at a readable font size. Smaller screens, like the 15.6" one, generally have a much lower resolution, so you can get less on the screen at once.

Of course, for real work, you can plug all laptops upto an external monitor, at which point this becomes a non-issue.

And I find MediaMarkt and Digitec are generally much cheaper than InterDiscount on just about everything.
