Buying a TV - do they do xmas/new year/boxing day sales here?

Hi, I am thinking about buying a new TV in Switzerland. As I have only been living here a couple of months I have no idea whether we can expect similar post xmas sales over here? Is it worth waiting?

I live in Basel but happy to shop online if anyone knows of any good websites.. any help much appreciated!

No boxing-day sales here, as it is a holiday and all stores are closed!

In some cantons (Geneva) 26th December is a normal working day.

Note - there are sales here, but typically they start after the Christmas holidays and there's not quite the rush you see in the UK.

do check online and store like saturn & especially migros electronics.. they tend to have some deals during this season..
last week my friend bought PS3 160GB for 220 from M electronics which is around 60-80 bucks discount plus got newly released NFS game worth 40 bucks Gratis!!

There are great deals post Christmas, in the month of January. If you can hold on till then, majority of the shops have sales.
