Christmas is a great time for families and great fun, but it is also a time for parents to rest.
My girls aged 11 + 13 are absolutely bonkers about this website they found,
www.tinkatolli.com (it is NOT one of mine and I do not have any benefit from promoting it) which is not only keeping them incredibly engaged but also has them collecting and using our waste to make things.. (like Blue Peter did for my generation).
It is BRILLIANT ! They are HOOKED ! now we can't throw anything away until it has been throughly examined for potential use.
We have installed in our girls the importance of being green and that they are personally responsible for the preservation of the planet and it's resources, after using the above site they are now teaching us, it is so refreshing to see companies developing children's websites that actively promote the greener way...
With all of the waste that is generated over the Christmas period, wrapping, boxes, plastic etc etc we are confident that it can now be put to use, in fact we feel that this waste that their presents arrive in will instead of becoming rubbish will be part of their presents.
It will also give us a reprieve as parents to enjoy Christmas a little more !!!!
PS I have restricted access until Christmas to maintain the novelty
