EXCEPT Orange, who give you a discount if you're a customer. Seeing as we are, this is an attractive offer, but I've got no idea what their service/connection is like. I did a search through the forum but couldn't find a reference to Orange ADSL, so was just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on Orange as an ADSL provider in general, on them vs Swisscom, or can provide any other suggestions as to who a good provider is.
PS For the record, we can't get Cablecom in our building, and the Orange offering is attractive as they give you a wireless router, which Swisscom don't as I understand it... | |

As Shorrick said - if you can't get Cablecom you'll probably end up getting Bluewin-TV - for that you need a Swisscom DSL connection.
While the basic DSL packages are pretty much the same (as a matter of fact, all Orange does is re-sell Swisscom DSL packages...), you also might want to look at Swisscom's Infinity package - for 69 Fr. (+ the basic subscription fee for your phoneline) you'll get the maximum available speed your line offers plus free calls to all Swiss landline numbers 24/7.
If VDSL is available in your place (which, btw., is also necessary to get BW-TV), your max speed could be up to 20'000k. Meaning that you'll end up paying 69 Fr. per month for a 20 mbit/s line + free landline calls. Depending on your usage scenario, this could save you a ton of money - it did for us. If your max line speed is significantly lower, you might want to look at other offers, though. You can check your line here:
