iPad performance

My iPad is running really slowly since i installed new apps

Anybody know any good apps for monitoring and checking performance or housekeeping iPad? ITunes store search for "ipad performance" mainly brings up vehicle or music related apps

Re: iPad performance

I'm not sure what the cause is, but I've noticed that my iPad has become much slower and more unstable over the past few months. I haven't loaded many new apps, so I'm not quite sure of the culprit.

Re: iPad performance

Have you rebooted? This is recommended every three weeks or less depending on usage...

I don't know of any. And considering all apps run in a sandbox on iOS without any access to the system core or other apps I doubt that there are any.

Re: iPad performance

Two things that really work for me on ipad 1 are
- Shut down excessive applications: double click the button and close applications in the bottom bar (dont delete the apps )
- Switch it off once in a while at night while it is charging (not just in sleep mode)

and voila it runs faster than it used to without these...

Re: iPad performance

What I would do is close all the applications that are running. To do so you have to double click the home button, hold an application and wait for it to shake, then press the little cross. If you do this with all of them, I think it should run faster. Another option is restoring it to factory settings and then putting all your old apps back on it.

That's it, it displays info and allows you to make your own decision as to what should be running or not, what is a resource hog etc...What else do you want a monitor to do ?

I wouldn't expect a monitor to do anything but in the description it says "The memory will free up and the CPU usage will drop "... so I was confused...
So no housekeeping, just monitoring. Got it!
Thanks!

It looks good, but can it really do what it says? There are no reviews yet...

There are user reviews on that link, it is nothing more than a monitor and nothing more than you see in the screen shots.

What have you got to lose for a buck ?

Fair point, but dozens of apps later, you realise that it begins to add up...

Nope, my iPhone 4S (iOS v5.01) freezes, crashes, and needs reboots as well.
And some apps hog the processor, killing all apps does help.
