I know there is no bandwidth limitation imposed by Cablecom, I am more interested in knowing just out of my own curiosity. I'm a "techie-type" with a large home network, that has just about everything integrated (VOIP phones, NAS, TV, media-streamer, etc), and I'm interested to see any sudden increase in internet bandwidth, so it could give me a heads up if one of the devices is not acting correctly, or if something else is wrong. For example, if for several months I am using 2GB per month, then suddenly one month it's 20GB, then I will see something looks wrong and investigate why the sudden increase.
I do have a DD-WRT router in my home network, and there is a way with rflow to monitor data-traffic of each networked device, however it does it in kind of a messy way (needs an external PC running mSQL to stay on), and counts internal traffic also (ie: no way to differentiate traffic staying inside my network, or traffic going external).
So, in short, I just want to see what my monthly internet data usage is. Pretty simple request, that seems doesn't have a simple answer
