Monitor Bandwidth Usage on Cablecom?

Does anyone know if there is any way for me to monitor my daily/weekly/monthly data usage of my Cablecom internet connection? I have the new Thomson wifi modem/router, but don't see any functionality like this built into it. It's a pretty simple thing, just a port data logger, should be in there, but it seems it's not.

Does Cablecom have any "app" that can be downloaded? Or provide the monitored bandwidth from the network side to the customer in some fashion? (ex: via on-line account)?

I'm curious to know my monthly data useage and see variations in it, but really have no way of knowing.

Re: Monitor Bandwidth Usage on Cablecom?

Why do you want to know?

As there are no limitations, it makes no difference if you use 1KB, 1MB, 1GB or 1TB of data per month

Re: Monitor Bandwidth Usage on Cablecom?

I know there is no bandwidth limitation imposed by Cablecom, I am more interested in knowing just out of my own curiosity. I'm a "techie-type" with a large home network, that has just about everything integrated (VOIP phones, NAS, TV, media-streamer, etc), and I'm interested to see any sudden increase in internet bandwidth, so it could give me a heads up if one of the devices is not acting correctly, or if something else is wrong. For example, if for several months I am using 2GB per month, then suddenly one month it's 20GB, then I will see something looks wrong and investigate why the sudden increase.

I do have a DD-WRT router in my home network, and there is a way with rflow to monitor data-traffic of each networked device, however it does it in kind of a messy way (needs an external PC running mSQL to stay on), and counts internal traffic also (ie: no way to differentiate traffic staying inside my network, or traffic going external).

So, in short, I just want to see what my monthly internet data usage is. Pretty simple request, that seems doesn't have a simple answer
