Hello everyone,

I need some help. I just moved to Winterthur. My problem now is finding the best package deal for internet, cable, with or without telephone. I have heard of a few companys, but, I really dont know much about the internet services that are offered here. Can anyone help? I dont know for sure what exactly do I need.

We are moving from an apartment with to to an apartment without cable and I would give anything to keep cablecom!!

We pay 77.30 for cablecom - tv (HD with a recording box), internet at 50,000kbs and phone. I think this package is now 79 chf a month.

Our only option at our new apartment is Swisscom - and for 125 a month we get internet at 18,000 kbs - I think at this price we get HD and recording on the tv.

Just had a look at Swisscom and looks like we don't even get a wireless modem/router - just ethernet!! You need to pay extra for wireless - how can they not give you a wireless router in this day and age!!! We are due to get it tomorrow so not sure how to change it over ..... grrrrrrrr!!!!!

I think Cablecom has the best package in Switzerland. Most bang for your buck and the best ISP offering up to 100Mbps.

Is it available in your apartment/house?

upc cablecom covers most houses in Winterthur, and you cannot beat their internet speed nor their prices

I wish we had cablecom. Sadly we have some wonky satellite system and Swisscom Internet. Boo hoo.

Another vote for Cablecom. I got the PowerCombi for 99.80 / month.
Haven't experienced any internet downtime ever since I moved here.

Can't believe Swisscom is charging so much for their slow internet.

They have you trapped if you don't have cablecom in your area/building. I think I may rally all the neighbours and try and get the owner to put in cable - it is in the street but not our building.

Swisscom also let us kown big time today. The previous tennants did not have phone/tv/internet so we had to have the line activated by an electrician. When we ordered our package from swisscom just after new years they gave us a date of 27th of Jan. So we got the electrician for today - he came, installed a few lights and worked on the phone line.....nothing.... he calls swisscom..............They didn't activate the phone and won't do it until the 3rd of Feb!!!! And the electrician has to come back out - more cost to us!!!!

mmm I am moving to a new house in April wich has swisscom, but the landlord told me that there is telecom in the street but It´s not in the building, so I would appreciate if you could tell me what do I need to get telecom in the new house.
