Sunrise Go Dayflat

Hello. The rate for Internet is 1 Frank per day unlimited surfing. Does that mean no more costs or do I have to pay for every Megabyte data. Confused.

Just to clarify, that's until midnight, not 24 hours.

Do I have to pay 1 CHF as soon as I turn the Handy on or only when I make a call or use the internet service?

Only if you use it, so make the first call or connect to the internet

Be careful with data flat. If you don't turn off the data connection of your mobile phone, it can easily trigger the data flat.

The typical answer would be 3 CHF

However, you get the first 20 Kb free so you might get away with not paying internet at 1 CHF.

Für nur CHF 1.– pro Nutzungstag in der ganzen Schweiz unlimitiert im Internet surfen – erste Verbindung bis 20 KB gratis.

Seems any SMS/MMS in Switzerland 1 CHF unless you were sending outside Switzerland than that rate would be used and presumably you don't pay the 1 CHF

pro Nutzungstag unlimitiert SMS und MMS in alle Schweizer Netze versenden

If you make a call to another mobile outside of Sunrise you probably are going to pay that rate and not the 1 CHF.

Für nur CHF 1.– pro Nutzungstag unlimitiert zu Sunrise Mobile und ins Schweizer Festnetz telefonieren

Re: Sunrise Go Dayflat

I am currently going through a nightmare experience with Sunrise of this very issue ---> the supposed "unlimited" deal for Internet at 1CHF per day is FALSE! There IS a limit ---> 500MB/Day at a max of 4GB/month

Exceed either of those threshholds and you are charged 0.10CHF/20kB!!!

Completely false advertising - but at least now I know the limit!

Excuse me, but were you there next to me in the store when I bought the SIM's - I don't think so - so please don't be so quick to call me a liar.

As for "several warnings" - again false - we got one SMS (in German) when 3GB was exceeded within the month and all it did was point the customer to the "Fair Use Policy" which when we tried several times to access would only show a Sunrise page telling you to go back to the Home page! I thought that since it was "unlimited" at the very most our connection speed would be shaped - but obviously this is not an "unlimited" deal at all!

As for exceeding 4GB of data - on a phone that is a lot, but we both tether to our laptops, which again I was told by the sales reps was no issue - so 4GB in a month in our case is nothing! Regardless - if it's unlimited surfing of the Internet for 1CHF/day you should be able to use it without limit, even if the slow you way down it's still unlimited since the thing they are (supposedly) saying is unlimited is the data amount and not the speed. Apparently nothing about this deal is actually "unlimited"!

i agree. i think companies should not be allowed to advertise service as unlimited if it is not unlimited. if they mean max 500mb/day and 4gb/month then they can say that.

FUP is an industry norm across various countries, and yes all of them market it as unlimited.

Right, but charging outrageous rates after the threshold is reached is not about fair use but about ripping off customers. There are other methods such as throttling connection speed.

When I exceed the monthly allowance on Swisscom, I pay 10 cents per additional MB. That's a reasonable price and I'm perfectly fine with that. But charging 10 cents per 20 kB is beyond ridiculous.

I'm totally with Phil_MCR here. If it's 4GB/month then call it 4GB/month!

I have exceeded 500MB within a day and received no SMS alert of any sort. The only alert SMS's I received were the ones alerting me that I had exceeded 3GB in the month, and then 4GB in the month.

If you exceed 500MB in a day they don't seem to notify you - and I am not even 100% sure that you are switched over to the normal data rate. All I was told was that the limits for the "unlimited" side of things was 500MB/day until you reach 4GB within a month.
