Quitting my Sunrise contract

I wrote to Sunrise in August, by registered letter, cancelling my ADSL contract which runs until 2nd March 2012. They offered me a trial "Free Internet" until December 2011. This I accepted, saving CHF 69,-- per month.

Again I wrote to Sunrise just before Christmas, by registered letter, cancelling my ADSL contract (which runs until 2nd March 2012). They have now offered me free Internet until December 2012.

We cancelled because the upload speed is too slow to upload large files, the line always times out. Many, many calls to Sunrise support brought no solution. We are moving to Cablecom.

Now, if any of you want some lower Sunrise Internet fees, just send them a registered letter, quitting every 6 months, and wait for the offers to arrive.

Our phone didn't work the whole week - after complaining to Sunrise again and again they offered to reduce 300 fr. from the next
bill.

Re: Quitting my Sunrise contract

Upon having arrived in Bern 1 month ago I was sold two Prepaid SIM cards from a Sunrise store on the basis that for 1.00CHF/day I could surf the Internet unlimited. Turned out this was completely false - there is a limit and when you reach it you are charged 0.10CHF per 20KB!

Anyhow .. all I can say is that the so-called "English Department" of their phone support is terrible! I spoke to just about every rep they have working there and not a single one is a native English speaker and most are very difficult to understand due to super thick accents - mostly French/African from what I could tell.

Additionally the reps know close to nothing technical and I find myself having to tell them that "roughly x-amount of kB is x-amount of MB ..." etc...

Numerous times the reps have tried to place the reponsibility on me, the customer, for their systems malfunction or account glitches which they themselves admitted to ... is it a "Swiss thing" to want all the power but constantly sidestep taking responsibility!? - I don't think so ...

Not impressed!
