The only way to hear these channels is to play them through the TV. - unless you go to the expense and rent another digital box for another cable socket (however I think we only pay 6 chufs per month extra for our second one).
Basic radio stations from basic cable (non-digital) can be accessed from other connected cable sockets on a hi-fi with co-axial cable aerial connector.
EDIT: If you have wifi router, you may want to consider internet radio, for an endless choice of stations.
