Vikings season 4, anyone watched it yet?
Is it out already? Season 3 is just about to be shown on History later this month.

dodgyken, doesn't look like Second Chance is getting a second chance. No news of being renewed and the series finished end of March. Ratings weren't very good either.

A&E cancelled Longmire after season 3 - it was then picked up by Netflix - and 4 was excellent. Getting a renewal elsewhere 6 weeks after the last episode aired is possible. Fox seem to have a lot of new series going at the moment - so it will be interesting to see how many make it through.

Strain will be back for season 3.

It's out on Amazon and elsewhere it you know where to look. It's also amazing.

True dodgyken, but I never understood why A&E cancelled Longmire in the first place. Iirc it was their top rated show.

Second highest behind "Duck Dynasty". Reading a WSJ article on it indicates it is down to the show's demographics and the ability to charge advertisers.

In other words - even reduced from $1.5m per episode A&E couldn't get the money back at $32k per minute of advertising

And yet Netflix can? Weird. Two opportunities to see it in the UK. TCM show it soon after the US dates and then Channel 5 have it on 5USA. It's currently on 5USA at 9pm on Fridays.

81m subscribers - at $12 per month = $11.7bn revenue.
$15m for a 10 episode season of Longmire? Not going to register on the accounts much!

Netflix must operate under a different model. I'm not sure how advertising plays a role. I'm glad they're doing their own prductions - my sister is crew on a new series, so she has a good job for the rest of the year at least.

With more traditional TV, even if you have high ratings, if the demographic isn't right (e.g., too many "old" viewers), the advertisers aren't happy and the show is axed. A&E must operate like that too.

Game of Thrones is setting the pace again

I started Man in the High Castle and it is really good, I got the free Amazon 30 day trail, but forgot to stop it after so I will try to finish this and should be watching some of their other shows (any recommendations on Prime?)

The Night Manager was really quite entertaining.

Have been lent series two of True Detectives. I am looking forward to watching that next.

The one with Colin Farrell/Rachel McAdam? Saw it a while ago, more 'in your face' than the first one but we enjoyed it, hope you do also.

Sadly, the following series hasn't touched the brilliance in drama/ storyline & acting of Woody Harrelsen and Matthew McConaughey in the first. It would've been great if they both signed up for the second. Were far too busy on other projects, I suspect.

From what I read about the series, the idea was that each series would use different actors.

"Set up as an anthology series, each season will feature a different cast of characters and self-contained narratives in various time periods and locations.[9]"

To all fans of Game of Thrones, I just read today, fans' speculation might be confirmed in the next week's episode: Snow is a Targaryen

I hate to be a spoiler, but, um, no. Now, whether he will still be the same Jon Snow that we all know and love is still up for grabs.

And, just to blow everyone's minds a little bit, Nick, the lovable junkie from Fear the Walking Dead is, in real life, the son of Stannis Baratheon. True. I know, right?

Exact same thing happened to me. Ended up being a blessing in disguise as got to check out all the shows I've wanted to watch that I couldn't get via Netflix.

Haven't seen Man in the High Castle yet but will check it out for sure. Recommendations on Prime are: Transparent, Hand of God and Alpha House.
Didn't get into: Sneaky Pete although it had potential.
I didn't like: Mad Dogs, Betas, Mozart in the Jungle
