| Hello jrspet. I saw your EF post from a year ago about using Switzernet on an Android phone, and I wondered how it worked out. Has the quality been OK? In my experience it can be a bit patchy using VOIP over 3G, but I then I am using a very cheap phone with an old version of Android.
Now I am setting up a business, I need to find a phone arrangement which is both cheap and portable (also abroad), so I thought of doing what you have done (ie Switzernet via an Android app, and using a decent phone). My only concern is about the coverage and the quality, so I would be grateful for your feedback. Thanks. | |

Until recently, Switzernet has been very good. A few drop outs now and then. But in general, very good.
A few weeks ago Switzernet went down - no warning, no apologies. Apparently they were moving their service to new servers. But that did not explain the bankruptcy status in Moneyhouse.
Here is the thread. Switzernet is now up and running, as stable as earlier. Hope it stays that way!
A number of people here have been using Switzernet for a while. I have two business numbers connected with Switzernet numbers. Due to the recent Switzernet down time, I picked up on another service... Sonetel. I have adjusted my telephone numbers to start off at the Sonetel number then redirect to the Switzernet numbers, voice mail or my mobile. A very interesting Voice Application comes with Sonetel and can be free.
Good luck with your decision.
