Just want to give a thumbs up to this deal.
Bought my little boy one of these on the weekend, and for the price its absolutely brilliant. Amazingly, Samsung still haven't released an ICS upgrade for this model even though they intially promised it in Q1, therefore it comes with Honeycomb 3.2 out of the box. What a massive diservice to such a pretty, svelte device its slow, clunky and the interface is pretty awful. However root it, and grab an ICS ROM off the internet and it transforms into something very nice indeed.
I managed to get the last one instore (in Buchs, AG) but its still showing as instock for home delivery... get one while you can |

I ordered one yesterday online and I should get it tomorrow delivered! Have to look into the OS issue...hopefully we can figure it out! Will have to worry about that when it arrives....

I can provide link and limited instructions, but need to warn that if things go wrong you could brick your device |

My firewall won't let me access XDA, but I can post the name of the ROM once I get home this evening.

Well, patience is definitely not one of my virtues, but in this case I will have to make an exception and wait for the update! It is for my husband, anyways My iPad works just fine...

Even thought these are non-3G models, there are regional fw differences so the Italian 8.9 Tab has already received an ICS upgrade, but not the UK or US versions.

Sad I just missed out on this deal. I bought one of these back in an Interdiscount special a few months ago when the price was 349. Very happy with it and like it being that bit smaller than most tablets. I would have got one for my better half but see the link is dead |

I went for this deal, and was quite amused when the US version got a 4.0 upgrade this week itself... flashed it from the information on the XDA development page... stock ICS works brilliantly, and you can feel the difference from Honeycomb... however, there is a bug too... on locking the device and unlocking again, a garbled fuzzy display comes up and its impossible to work with the tablet... will have to revert back to 3.2 now... not a problem, except that I have forgotten which stock version I had... can someone install the SGS CSC app from the Play store and look up the region code for me... once I know this I can choose which 3.2 version to flash...

So I reflashed with a stock US ROM (UELA3 ) using ODIN to get me back to square one. And then flashed again with the same ICS ROM.
Voila, no more fuzzy screen and very stable.

I still have the md5 images saved on my system...

I think this is a stupid question but on the link the offer says valid between 21.08.2012-3.09.2012 does that mean that if there is still stock available I will be able to purchase this on Monday. The question is are the dates inclusive?
And also how easy/difficult is it to upgrade the operating system for someone like me who has very little clue about "gadgets"

Seán | | | | | Sean,
according to my previous experience with Migros on other promotions like pans, etc ; they take you order even if they run out of stock in that shop and deliver in the following days.
