Just a word of warning if you plan to buy a Skype phone from this outfit - Don't!!
They run the official Skype shop and therefore I was expecting to be dealing with a reputable company. In a nutshell, I ordered a Dualphone 4088 having had many years of good service from the previous 3088 model. Paid in francs and was assured by their website that they would cover all delivery and import taxes i.e. the price I paid was fully inclusive. What transpired was that the phone was shipped from Hong Kong with a value of CHF 9 declared on the customs label (very naughty). Swiss customs opened the package, and levied CHF 45 of taxes and admin charges and to make matters worse, the phone arrived DOA and so will need to be sent back to HK (on my cost). I filed both the RMA and a claim for the tax back last week and have heard nothing back since. The next port of call will be my credit card company.

So beware, this is turning out to be a very expensive and regrettable experience... shame on Skype for exclusively dealing through these charlatans.

PS: I find using the iPAD or a similar tablet for Skype video works the best for me. Why use an "old fashion" Skype handset at all?

I'm not the world's most demanding guy, but 5 months since I first clicked the 'buy' button and I am still without a working Skype handset.

I was always surprised at how few good "real" Skype phones there are. I had an iPevo but it was lacking in many ways.

Along the same lines as using an iPad, I was considering using an older iPhone in a cradle as a Skype phone.

I hope your situation gets worked out.

The matter has now been resolved, after the involvement of Jennifer the company DHL'ed me a replacement handset which finally works.

Does she get green rep?
