Internet issues: Cancelling contract ?

Hello I plan to get internet here but I can only get cablecom (or i can get dsl but i have to pay an electrician to set it up and swisscom can not tell me how much it costs).

I have shared my neighbour's connection (he had cablecom) and it was sometimes very bad so I'm afraid a cablecom connection could be bad as well (sometimes no connection, sometimes ping losses, sometimes just very high ping, jitter...)

If I get a new contract and the connection turns out to be bad, can I cancel the contract easily ?

Thanks

In a word - NO

Unless you wait to the contract period of 12 months minimum in most cases

Re: Internet issues: Cancelling contract ?

Cablecom performance / price ratio is the best. I have been with them about 5 years, excellent service.

I too had problems about 2 weeks ago, I noticed trouble at 2 pm, by 4 pm it was really bad. I called them and the amplifier in the street box was replaced two hours later.

So maybe your neighbour has a fault on his line?

Re: Internet issues: Cancelling contract ?

Thanks I will ask neighbours.

I'm in Thalwil (close to bahnhof), one of my neighbour also complained about Cablecom.

Is there any website for Switzerland where we can get feedback on internet providers for different areas ?

To the right of Cablecom's website you can check the availability of their products at your address. This will at least give you an idea of how up-to-date your cables are
