this is my socket in the wall:


Using adapter that I got from cablecom, I can use only right connector, which suppose to be radio (?). The left one looks exactly like adapter, and it should handle TV signal.

I tried to connect modem to right one, but upstream signal cannot be established. Today I will buy adapter for left socket. But anyway, maybe someone have some advises, what else could I do to get connection?

you should use the small one, not the big ones on the side...

Your socket looks strange, I think you need some adapter... Don't you have one in the package?

In Switzerland a 2 co-ax to 3 co-ax adapter comes with every set top box / Modem. He should contact UPC Cablecom.

I work for upc. Sounds to me as if your connection isn't 2-way capable- hence no upstream. the socket in your foto is the old 2 hole socket, the next generation was the 3-socket and the latest is the BROADBAND 2- hole socket. You can try by asking for a free MULTIMEDIA Adapter and see if that works ( you can get those at the service points or in the upc shop in Zürich). Did you get the modem for that specific address or did you move it there from another address?

But best to replace socket with newer BROADBAND 2-hole socket

Older sockets have filters built in, newer have no filters.
Signal is better without filters.

The Multimedia adapter just joins Radio and TV back together again to get around the filter problem, but its not as good as a new socket without filters.
