| | | Satellite Installer Recommendations
Zurich area: www.sp-radiohess.ch for me. Reasonable job but you do get to pay for it!!
They will travel too, but you will pay for their travel time. Please do only post on here IF you've had a satellite installation done by the professionals! |

| | | Sky installer (SkyHD) - Zurich
Hi all
Just thought I would mention another company around Zurich that carried out an installation for me yesterday - Sound and Vision based in Rüshlikon - http://www.soundvisionag.ch/
We were moving from a base sky system (mini box) with a standard dish to a HD box with a new larger dish. We did not take out a new contract through S&V (they are the main dealers for GermanSky in Switzerland) but upgraded our existing contract through the UK to have HD and Sky+ functionality.
Marco from S&V turned up on time, was friendly and carried out a quick installation of the dish, cables and box. Both the work and components are all of good quality.
For those worried about telephone lines, our old Sky box had never been connected to a phone line, with the new HD box I did try to use a digi dialler as I have been told / read that Callback is a must for Sky to switch on HD / Sky+ services these days - the digi dialler did not seem to work but Sky when called from the UK switched our card to the new box, turned on the premium channels, HD and Sky+ without any problems at all.

The invoice is yet to arrive but it will be approx 2000, that includes the Sky HD box, a new dish (needed a larger one as signal was poor with a 1m center mounted LNB), quad LNB, cabling and installation.
I have a Samsung LE40R51B TV connected to the Sky HD box using HDMI.

Alex Syridis has an excellent reputation for Sky installations. I believe he is in Geneva. I don't have his details at present but will post as soon as I locate him. Many expats mentioned him as an excellent installer.
By the way Insat International can supply Sky HD boxes for £300 including UPS to Switzerland (if you ask for a special discount. Otherwise it is £325). www.insatinternational.com

We used Frank T.V in Schonenberg for our Sky box dish etc. They were really good and I would recommend them. The technician Michael spoke very good English and was so helpful and friendly. The whole package cost about 1850, plus the monthly fee but as I now get 4 T.V. stations from Ireland it's well worth it !! We are connected to Sky Germany.

I have just had a satellite dish installed by Sound and Vision - http://www.soundvisionag.ch/ and I was completely satisfied. I now have SKY+ and can watch all the Sports I want!!!
Patrick, who owns the company (and speaks perfect English, given his mother is English), did the installation as Marco is ill. Everything was so freindly and it went so smoothly I would not hesitate to recommend the service toi anyone looking for this type of service in Zurich. They arrived when they said they would, and I felt their charge was very reasonable. |

Just wanted to add my recommendation for www.soundvisionag.ch if you are looking to get sky + / Sky HD setup in the Zurich area. The owner Patrick is very helpful and speaks perfect english. I explaned what I needed, he gave me a price over the phone which included everything I needed and also the installation.
I thought the price was reasonable although its obviously going to be cheaper to buy all the bits and try to do it yourself. One of his guys came a few days later and set everything up for me in about 90mins.
I now have Sky HD and Sky + working fine in my apartment, I have an 88cm dish on a stand on my south facing balcony and the signal is normally perfect although I have lost it for 30mins a few of times during the heavy rainstorms last month.

I have just bought a satellite dish and after several failed attempts to install it would be grateful for satellite installer recommendations. I have tried some of the companies suggested on the link but they are very expensive and charge by the hour and not by result. I am also interested to hear about non-professional companies- perhaps someone knows of an odd-job person who is able and could install my dish for 100CHF? All the cables have been installed, the only thing required is to check signal.
Any suggestiosn greatly appreciated

Not sure of the cost yet because my skybox hasnt arrived from the UK but inter discount have their own satellite dish installation unit. If they are comparible to their shop prices then a good deal could be had....?

Dont know if this is good for everyone but I did this:
Went to france mr bricolage bought a dish with all the tech. bits and a wall mount Euro 199 bought 4 wall screw things and an hour of my time.
drilled 3 holes for the mount, one through the wall to connect to the sky box i bought and had delivered from UK £169.99.
phoned local company and told them i lost satellite reception he arrived with complicated sat. finder and 10 mins and ch 45 later hay presto im watching corrie now..... cheaper than the ch 2500 i was quoted,,,

They did our's too. Good job but wait for the first storm, our dish got knocked off centre waaay too easily for my liking.
Called Gysin in Adliswil and he fixed it no problem, haven't had an issue since.
So, my recommendation is Gysin in Adliswil. | Quote: | | | | | I have just had a satellite dish installed by Sound and Vision - http://www.soundvisionag.ch/ and I was completely satisfied. I now have SKY+ and can watch all the Sports I want!!!

All,
Do you have a recommendation of an installer located in the Vaud region? Better if you have had some experience that you would like to share and best if you could provide an idea of the price range
Thanks!

We used Nathan from http://www.priorityhomeservices.com/.
He's English, did a good job and can do all sorts of other jobs like fit lights, hang pictures etc if you have neither the time nor the inclination. They do charge for travel though, but was quite up front about it.
Re drilling holes: its up to your landlord, ours was fine about it but most aren't. The easiest solution if you can't drill is a free-standing thing called a balcony stand - self explanatory. Priority Home Services can supply one if you need it.
