Disappointed with storesatellite.com (formerly skycards.net)

Hello guys
I thought I must mention here that i was majorly disappointed by the service and beahvious of storesatellite.com . I got the Sky box through them earliy 2006 and this year got it upgraded to Sky HD - boxes arrived ok no problem but i was charged double for various months (happened two times) and they could not help sort out the problem. It was a major nightmare - finally switched to another provider (satOne) and happy with their service. The strong EUR for ROI cards is not good news though.
cheers,
kevin

Exactly the same has happened to me - previously very happy with the storesatellite service but not any more .

you said " can't verify whether you're simply trying to give them stick but......we're not a support forum so I'm deleting these posts "

i know its not the storesatellite support forum , as i am in the thread recommandations agent, i just speak about my experience with this website

all new customers need to know how they work
so as i said before it was deleted " they no reply, no answer on phone, they have no adress "

yes - and I state again that I cannot verify who you are and thus you could be a competitor - we've seen it before on this thread.

So, unconfirmed person, thanks for your thoughts but they are taken with a pinch of salt. And if you have a complaint with me removing your post, take it up with me and not the forum.

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

We have a Sky satellite DISH and used to have a Sky contract, set up by someone shady whom I can no longer reach, and paid automatically by my US credit card. A snafu by my US bank bounced a Sky bill one month and Sky cancelled the contract. Because I had no address in the UK or UK number to call from, I couldn't reinstate. But that left us with the Sky free channels, which we have been living with for the last couple of years. A few months ago, however, we suddenly stopped being able to get any stations. Does anyone know why or what we should do about it?

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

I have just had my credit card debited for the "annual" fee by storesatellite less than 11 months since my last annual fee. Their advertised rate is 120GBP. They charged me 179 Euro last time which was about right. This time they charged me 179 Euro again which I calculate is 133GBP on today's exchange rate

Update: just checked skydigitalcards.com. It doesn't look promising there either

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

We use www.solsat.com which is expensive but has worked fine for the past 5 or 6 years., both from Rheinfelden and now in France.

They supplied the Digibox and the card and we have never had an outage

Cheers

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

We have had a bad experience with Store Staellite. We originally set up our system with them but the Sky service stopped inexplicably in October 2007 and despite many many requests for them to restore the service, nothing. Then last month, out of the blue, the had the hide to charge me the annual fee again.

Find someone else is my comment. Hopefully they are more reliable.

Skynow.tv (formerly known as Germansky). I don't know about their price but the service is very good. For example I forgot my PIN to unlock the movie channels and they replied instantly. Or when some channels don't work they send a signal or something (what do I know) at your request and it works again.

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

Hello everyone

I have a different problem, in that I was with skycards/storesatellite for 4 years, but now I have moved back to the UK and returned my sky viewing card, they are not replying to any attempt to contact them, and I am still being billed for sky tv! I was told not to contact sky by this company, but I cannot think what else to do, otherwise it seems they will happily carry on taking payment for a service I am not receiving. I just don't know what to tell Sky when I call! Any suggestions?

PS The last contact I had with storesatellite was around 20th July, when I emailed them to ask where I should send the viewing card back to. They wrote back and gave an address and I sent off the card. When I continued to be billed by sky I have emailed several times, tried to call (no answer) and even faxed them once! No response. It seems something has definitely happened to this company in the last few weeks!

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

Thought I might reactivate this thread as I've now got the messages that my new card has been posted and I should insert it in the box. I was with Storesatellite as the card provider and admin agent but terminated them two years ago because they charged me twice for their annual admin fees and they never responded to my calls. My card however continued to work.

So now I need a new provider as I don't wish to bother aged relatives to provide me with a UK address.

I've found one provider in Switzerland - CHF 2500 to provide an HD decoder plus CHF 2500 pa for the full package. No I haven't mistyped those quotes.

So can anyone give an updated recommendation for a provider to Switzerland who they find efficient and who supplies and does any admin at a reasonable cost?

I came across this lot in Geneva - anybody had dealings?:

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

hi
I am pretty happy with services of www.satone.tv

Their annual admin charges are GBP 120, and initial cost of approx GBP 300 for the HD box.

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

We were with store satellite but when they wanted over £300 for a new card that they are sent free I am afraid I though stuff them. We are going to digital cablecom instead.

You could just leave he card out of the machine and get free to air channels - there are loads of them.

They were only going to charge me 149GBP to post the card out. A real bargain.

But after getting more and more regular messages that I should replace my card, they have now stopped appearing. I haven't seen one for over two weeks.

Hi Nev,

Did you contact satel in the end? I'm also looking for a reliable agent.

Thanks!

Re: Sky Agent Recommendations

I sent storesatellite 108 euros for a new viewing card five meeks ago (17th October) and all I have received are excuses and promises that the new card will be sent "early next week". Be careful!
