So where's the App..? I did a search on the iTunes Store and it came up blank.

Read the newspaper article and the previous posts in this thread about using a UK IP address and/or TOR etc... for initial sign up.

I tried the link in Safari on my iPhone and because of the IP blocking it gets blocked, so in other words this wont work in Switzerland, only the UK.

Another alternative App is Joost (which is available on the iTunes Store) and it works..

but slowly (jittery vid even when connected through my home network).

Now I'm begging to wonder what's the point of this thread if the App will never work in Switzerland away.

Note: it is peer-to-peer so consider using PeerGuardian and also you will get banned from the service if you leech and don't seed - it is about having a 1:1 ratio on your sharing.

I have just been reading with interest your post on using tvcatchup overseas. My son has just gone to Hong Kong for 6 months and is looking to watch some UK channels out there.

I have suggested tvcatchup but this does not work out there.

One of your earlier posts says that it might be possible to access tvcatchup using a valid UK userid/password, as this appears on the end of the IP address.

I was wondering if you could let me know how to do this as I cannot see where this appears when you get the standard "access denied" screen ?

Use TOR with a UK based exit node ... for initial sign up.

Hi all

I've just had a relative in the UK sign up to this for me. I can log in with the user name and password, but when I try to watch a channel, I'm blocked due to having a non-UK location.

Either I'm doing something wrong, or the 'UK only for sign-up' system has been changed. (I'm using a Mac/Safari, if that makes any difference.)

Set up a uk VPN, just google UK vpn, should cost you about GBP 5/ month

Thanks, but it was only idle curiousity and a whim to have it on the iPod Touch, as we've already got most of the useful channels through an add-on Cablecom package. Just wondered if I'd missed a trick somewhere, and done it wrong.

Add the VPN into the touch under settings, works well on my iphone. Then open the following page with safari. http://iphone.tvcatchup.com/

you then need to logon and then it works fine.

Has anyone an up to date VPN which works with TVcatchup.

I haven't tested specifically tvcatchup. But I have just signed up for my-private-network.co.uk and it seems to work a treat - on Ipad as well.
