Thanks

In case anyone is interested....yes it does contain the full English commentary and menus. Even the leaflet to show you how to redeem the FUT online code was in English.

In other news, I foolishly didn't get on the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition quick enough - anyone any ideas where I can get it still (for PS4).

I was under the impression games were reasonably priced here, but i see there is 15-20 euro difference in price between getting it at the media markt here and in my home country. Guess i'll be picking some new ones up on my next visit.

looking forward to FIFA 16 release this month
Just order online from UK stores, you save a fortune.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

My PS3 is dead. Last summer the network connection stopped working (see post #234) and now it's gone down with the Yellow Light of Death so I'm now in the market for a PS4. Hopefully there'll be interesting bundles and special offers nearer Christmas.

Sucks because I just had bought Plants vs Zombies but I'm not going to buy a used PS3 only for that.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Anyone playing the Nathan Drake Collection?

Im midway through the second one, very good fun, three full great games for the price of one, if you haven't played them before (I have).

Also, anyone seen previews of The Last Guardian? Looks like a freaky but cool game, in the vein of Shadow of the Colossus.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

oh, and in case anyone cares, later this month there will finally be a universal media remote released for the ps4. That's great for those who use it for blu ray etc, and it can turn the console on and off. Should hopefully also mean that logitech harmony users (hub users) should soonish get better control of the ps4.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Today only, Interdiscount has a 10 percent discount on all devices. So, for instance, the 1TB PS4 with Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Watch Dogs goes for CHF 341.10.

Note however that Microspot now has that same bundle for 349.- (334.- using code MSP2015-15FR).

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Has anyone played AC: Syndicate? I was a big fan of the AC series (hence the avater) in 1 and 2, but it got very samey and I lost interest after that.

I've heard both good and bad things about Syndicate - is it a return to form, or a jumbled story, trying to do two different things and not succeeding at either?

I've got it, but not fired it up yet. My daughter has been playing it though and says it is a step up from Unity and probably her favourite since AC2. I've watched her play a little and it certainly does look an improvement in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

While I'm thinking about it, I swapped out the standard HDD in my PS4 for this from Digitec:
https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/Product/2753318
It was an absolute doddle, especially with the Back-up and Restore features introduced with firmware 2.50. I was constantly having to delete games to install or d/l new ones. Not any more.
I've also been playing MGSV Phantom Pain and really is a treat; I've never played any MGS games before and now I wish I had. On the other flipside, I hate Bloodborne; it's too bloody hard (for me), so much so it fails to be enjoyable and is turning into a chore. I can hardly touch the 1st, allegedly straightforward, boss.

Do it, especially 1-3!

It's not too hard once it "clicks".

I played the sort of prequel to phantom pain that came out a while ago and found it rather tedious, too much set up, too much sneaking about. I'm not against stealth per se, and loved the original MGS games, but felt that they just haven't evolved in a way that I can still enjoy. It did get 10 out of 10 on IGN though (although that sort of thing is now a lot more common than it used to be).

I quite like a good-old sneak 'em up. It requires a lot more care and planning than just running in gung-ho and shooting everyone. Plus there's an enormous feeling of satisfaction in completing a mission without being detected or killing anyone.

I've been thinking about this....did you have a guide that you followed you could point me towards please? Everything worked fine afterwards?

Re: AC Syndicate....I got this yesterday and had a few hours on it. After a lengthy tutorial I got to London, which looks fantastic. I'm originally from London so it's great to actually recognise the layout of the city and buildings (albeit with a degree of artistic license). It's also impressive how the buildings reflect how they were at the time, for example Buckingham Palace looks how it did in the mid 1800's, somewhat different to how it does now.

I do keep expecting the street urchins to break out into songs from Oliver, and it does have a Robert Downey Jnr era Sherlock Holmes look and sound to it.

Anyway, so far, so good. I've only ever played Black Flag before and that was pretty good but I lost interest after a while, so I'm hoping the setting & story (and gameplay of course) will keep me going for longer this time.

Just realised there is Witcher 3 DLC out now, so I guess I will give AC a miss, as I'll now be busy until the Fallout 4 launch.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

whitters,

here is the official sony guide.
https://support.us.playstation.com/a...grade-PS4-HDD/
its a very simple process.
I upgraded my ps4 harddrive and then put the old one in my old ps3 to increase its space.
now I have plenty of space on both systems.
