Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Just bought the Sony Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 https://www.google.ch/search?q=SONY+...m=122&ie=UTF-8

It gets amazing reviews that compare it to headsets double the price, and isn't a bad price at all at a shade less than 120 chuffs.

Might be a good idea actually, if I fancy a late night gaming session!

Can you plug any old headphones into the controllers though, I see there is a socket for that? Does that kill the battery life?

I heard the sound quality wasn't good through the controller, as it uses Bluetooth and the internal parts aren't great quality. The headset uses a wireless dongle so the quality should be decent.

Plus, it can also be used on PC etc so is a bit of a "do it all" for the money. Mic is built-in too so very neat.

I have a bluetooth logitech headset I use on my PC, there's no reason it shouldn't work with the PS4, is there?

I'm almost wary of how much scarier and more immediate that game will be at 60fps.

The tension in the game is truly palpable... now in the first skyscraper and need to clear my first big group of infected. Died numerous times, will need to have another go tonight.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Loving Last of Us; never played on the PS3, so this is a new experience for me. Looks great, superb voice acting and the gameplay is sufficiently taxing to be frustratingly enjoyable.

Has anyone tried to update your CC details in PSN? I had to cancel my Mastercard due to some fraudulent activity on my Google Play account, so am trying to add my Visa. However many times I check and double-check my details, it keeps telling me it is incorrect when I try to charge my wallet .

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

I'm currently working my way through 'Murdered: Soul Suspect'. It's OK so far, nothing special.

I played Last of Us on PS3, so sadly, not much point going PS4 with it, even though it sounds great.

Am tempted to get into Diablo III now though, anyone else had a dabble?

Same here, which is why I'm trying to update my CC details .
Played Diablo II many moons ago on my PC and curious to see how III is on a console.

Apparently Diablo III is considered as the best version they brought out, even has local multiplayer! http://www.metacritic.com/game/plays...critic-reviews

I will be definitely tempted to buy it and play online with you guys, as it has a lot of replay value due to the randomly generating dungeons and such varied loot.

Think I'll wait for the price to come down a bit though, its a little inflated at the moment due to how new it is...

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Ok guys I forgot... Diablo III is only 60 USD on the USA PSN version... so that makes it 35GBP / 55chf!

I have an second US PSN account set up with a US address and I simply link it to my UK account, then switch to it when buying a game, then switch back to my UK account and it's ready to go whenever I want from there from my UK account. Easy.

EDIT - Still hesitating a little though due to preferring Disc for resale value.

EDIT EDIT - Though I guess this game is going to be a keeper as it has so much replay value, so physical disk isn't so important as with games you only play through once or twice...

Its actually easier to buy the PSN vouchers on Amazon USA (with a US shipping address) and then simply input the vouchers into your US PSN account. That way it bypasses the PayPal/CC checks via the Sony US store. Much less hassle than it sounds once setup, trust me.

EDIT - Ok just bought the game and downloading now, ready to play when you guys catch up. I bought the US PSN vouchers through Amazon.com (same CH credit card, just simply create a fake US billing address) and then redeemed them with my second account on the US PSN network/store (simply go to US site on your PC and register a new account, which you then linkto the UK one). Goes without a hitch.

Guide is here - how to buy and play USA games with UK account http://www.nowgamer.com/features/217...psn_games.html

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Oh, and I REALLY recommend wiring up your PS4 with ethernet, it's obviously miles faster than wireless when downloading larger games. Either way though the PS4 wireless card sucks, no idea why they used such a crappy chipset.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

So, here we go.

Loving Diablo III, have spent all my free time on it this weekend and got up to around level 15 or so. I'm a Demon Hunter if anyone wants to give me a shout in game for grouping.

Finally a Triple-A title fulfilling its promise (ok, even if it is just a 2 year old PC game!). Control system is excellent and perfectly adapted for console.

Only thing confusing me slightly is the Blacksmith, but I think I have got to grips with how to level him up and get better items. He's still a bit rubbish at making weapons that suit me though...maybe my fault though.

Oh, little extra, I tried playing using my headphones (quite fancy Sennheisers, if that makes any difference?) plugged into the jack in the controller, and I have to say, it still simulates surround sound very well, you can really tell where offscreen the screeching from the monsters is, top work Diablo devs).

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Also playing a Demon Hunter on D3 . Only level 9 I think, but it's pretty addictive and a quick "half hour before bed" turns into an hour or more very rapidly. Also started a Barbarian to see how a big-arse melee class plays. My favourite class on D2 was the Necromancer (?); just raise loads of skeletons and launch them at the mobs. Hardly ever got damaged.

Having played the Beta, I can say that it was fun, but I can't see myself buying it.

I like a lot of the Mass Effect style components they brought in, such as weapon upgrades, and having a central hub to return to between missions, but at the end of the day, it is really just an episodic FPS with no real RPG elements. Great if you like that sort of thing, not my cup of tea though.
