Because it's gaming-related. Sort of.
Looks a bit silly but thats probably the idea! The best FPS show (without any shooting though) is Peep show!

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

I was chatting with Richdog before the weekend and we thought it would be a nice idea to set up an EF PS4 game exchange/loan group, possibly on Facebook. Obviously, there would have to be some strict rules on exchanging of details, who should be permitted etc, based mainly on trust issues etc.
Let me know if you would be interested in such a group and I'll get onto it.

That sounds like a great idea!

I stumbled across this thread while looking for a video game rental service like boomerang in the UK without any luck.

Hey guys, yesterday I had a spur of a moment thing went to Mediamarkt and just picked one up. Bought a couple of games online (can't wait to play MGS after work - might leave early ) and got Killzone just to play through the weekend.

I actually came to this thread looking to propose a similar idea and say to people to hit me up on PSN for friend requests since most of my old buddies from my PS3 days back in Greece are no longer playing. Username is the same as here without the blank

If you are really going ahead with the exchange group I'm really interested. PaddyG send me a PM if you want to talk more

I now have the following to trade (or sell):
  • Wolfenstein (Awesome)
  • The Last Of Us (Amazing)
  • Shadow of Mordor (Awesome, will be finished with it in a week or so)

If anyone has anything decent let me know.
Are those still available and what would you want to get for them?

Me too!

I just ordered my PS4 from Microspot.ch for 398CHF. You won`t find it cheaper anywhere. Even used ones are more expensive abroad!

I wanted to order Battlefield 4 (used) for 17gbp on Amazon UK, but so far nobody ships to Switzerland. Any ideas?

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Monkeyking, I saw the offer from Microspot.ch but wasn't sure what it means by CH Version. Is it something special for the Swiss that means it won't work in other countries?

As I spend my time between Switzerland, France and the UK I don't want something that won't work in (at least) these three countries.

A few other online stores make mention of the CH Version whereas others just state PS4.

Does anyone know if this CH Version is somehow different to a PS4 bought in France or the UK or anywhere else?

Thanks

Yes, the Swiss edition automatically stops working when it crosses any other national border.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

I think the only difference is the power plug.

What else could be the difference?

The games are region free, the hdmi cable is the same all over the world...

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

My guess would be that some shops are saying "CH version" to indicate that they're not selling US imports which were available here before the official Swiss release.

Maybe stores are dumping the old model (CUH-10XXA) in favor of the new revision (CUH-11XXA).

Just go ahead and put it in the shopping cart anyway to see if it works, the one from gamexchange works just fine with 2.79 GBP shipping to CH totalling around 30 CHF with shipping - not a bad deal at all!

Edit: I just went ahead and ordered it.

Do you need any help with setting up this game exchange group? I don't know much about Facebook, but I think such group is a great idea, so I'd be happy to contribute in any way.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Sorry guys, I've not had much time to think, let alone do anything, about this share group. I'm off all over the holiday period, so will try to organise something then.

Anyway; technical question; is there anyway to connect my PS4 to my PC speakers for audio output?
I have a set-up where I have PS3, PS4, Swisscom TV 2.0 and Mac Mini all connected to my LG TV via HDMI. The Mac mini is also connected to Logitech 2.1 speakers, and I would like to make these my PS4 audio output too. Is there a simple solution? I have to check, but I think I only have a single 3.5mm audio input on my speakers; would a simple splitter adapter work OK (assuming I have a 3.5 mm audio out on my TV of course, again, I need to check).

Just as a thought, do any of the HDMI inputs on your TV have ARC written by them? If your speakers were connectable by HDMI, then you could plug them in there and run every other HMDI source through your TV, into those speakers.

I have this sort of setup with my LG TV and these Philips speakers.

Re: The Playstation 4 Current/Future Owners Thread

Have to say, I do like them. I think they were one of the first decent wireless options, but it seems LG are now doing their own version of this called "Music Flow" which I would probably look into now instead.

(That is to say, if you want to buy my Philips, it would give me an excuse to get them!)

Interesting, and not too bad a price either. I don't think I have an HDMI out on my TV though.
Think I need a new TV as well then
