Re: OnePlus One - available without an invite

How good is the phone anyway. It can be bought on oneplus.eu, does it get delivered to Zurich within a week ? Anyone know bout it?

I am an Indian and one plus are making the phone available in India on amazon.in (after an invite), but in India Cynogen is no longer partnering OP.
Which means we wont get Cynogen Mod updates on the One in India, instead we will get OPO's own version of Android.

Now if I get an Indian one Plus and bring it here, will i or wont I get the lollipop update? And whose update will it be ?

I understand... so the only way to get it in that way is from an address in the EU.
Officially from the oneplus.net site you need an address in an eligible country.

.EU site isn't official. You will likely be charged import duty. It won't be covered by opo officially for warranty purposes.

As for the Indian oneplus updates it depends if they limit updates by location or imei. Either way you can fastboot load the official OPO ROM quite easily to stay up to date.

Re: OnePlus One - available without an invite

I got the invitee from the forums from a random good person. I ordered it to come to Germany using http://www.swiss-paket.de/. Got the phone on time (it was sent from UK). Went to swiss-paket, payed 2.5 eur, passed the border and payed the customs.

The phone is phenomenal, no complains.

Re: OnePlus One - available without an invite

I got three invites at the same time that Oneplus had the open Black Friday sale so my invites expired unused.

Re: OnePlus One - available without an invite

My solutions - order the phone straight from AliExpress. Why bother with local retailers, while the you can buy that phone directly from a China based internet shop that has international shipping.

Re: OnePlus One - available without an invite

It's still available on the official site - and I was (am?) that close to getting one (registered, the lot) ..... it's just the size that is putting me off - and the fact that between my iPad mini and 4" basic Android phone, it's hard to justify getting it, as it would make these other two, relatively surplus to requirements.

But it's just so big - I carry my current phone in my jeans pocket, with other rubbish, including a Swiss Army knife on a chain - I can't see a five-and-half incher fitting as comfortably.

..... and I know it's comparable sized to other phones on the market, but I've never been tempted by them, like I am this one - and always steered clear of considering a phone almost as big as my mini.

I will bite my tongue and avoid any inappropriate size-related jokes

This was also the issue I had with the One Plus One. Bought it not realising how bit it was. I have little hands and so worried that I wouldn't be able to comfortably use it, but the volume and power buttons etc are quite low down, so manage it fine. Can't even come close to fitting the phone in my pockets, but luckily I'm a girl and so can throw it in my handbag with all sorts of random assorted junk.
