Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

Hi all,

Just wondering what people's experiences are here?

I have been with Swisscom, on a contract for I guess ~7 years, always rolling for 1 or 2 years at a time, depending if I took a new phone or not.

My latest 2 year contract came to an end / was rolled a week ago. I have been offered a phone for free to sign on for another two years, but would prefer a reduction in monthly Abo instead - they don't seem keen.

I see that Orange, Sunrise etc do offer this kind of line rental loyalty bonus - has anyone managed to get one out of Swisscom? By and large, I do like their service, even if it is at the higher end, price wise - but if I could keep my number, would not be adverse to changing provider. Any ideas?

That's a bummer. I'm in a similar situation and was also thinking along these lines given that these days I'd buy a new phone outright rather than have it subsidised on contract.

Re: Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

I've been with Swisscom for 6 years nearly, and I'm considering an iPhone 6. So toddled off to a Swisscom shop and asked the same question.

I'm not sure if the bloke sneezed or sniggered, but basically was told nothing doing. So I called the service line (service being relative here) and no joy on any abo discount either, just a discount on the handset.... Providing, I took a contract upgrade, which actually offered less bang for buck than Orange, for more money, and the phone cost more. The guy accepted that Swisscom weren't competitive, but he said he didn't make the rules, and if he were me... he'd port to Orange!

Re: Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

Orange said 50 chuff to port the number if you want to keep it, and you get and Orange 1 for the interim, if your not bothered about the number then no problem. The Orange store guy said, so you do the order with them and they take car of the cancellation with Swisscom etc.

I have done it in the UK but not here, but am seriously considering it as Swisscom have lost the plot with deals for existing customers.

Re: Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

Well considering my bill with Swisscom usually runs to 120chf/month and I really do f all aside from a bit of data (included) and the odd text when abroad, I think I would claw back that 50chf pretty damn quick.

I also get terrible reception in my apartment with Swisscom, my partner gets good reception with Sunrise and friends on Orange have fine reception too. Fine, I am going to leave if they won't budge, thanks for your help.

Ok. I have also been for more than 6 year with Swisscom and demand a reward for my endurance and patience.

If we all long term customers call them this week, maybe-maybe-maybe only then they will rethink their customer's loyalty /satisfaction policies and surprise us with free iPhone 6+ Xmas gift

I've only ported from one pre-pay to another pre-pay.. Assuming it's the same for contract, it was painless and took around a week.

I still blow the trumpet for pre-pay.. 27chf for 5gb of data per month and calls so cheap that they may as well be free. Take the hit, buy the phone outright and save loads.

Re: Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

Swisscom in my experience is more keen on new customers than existing ones. I was with them for 4 years but have now switched to Cablecom. The 'joining bonus' was more than the 'loyalty bonus'.

I kept both my fixnet numbers - porting was painless.

I will try to give them one more gullible chance. If they will remain being so hopeless, there's only one way out

Not anymore..
I switched from Lebara (sunrise) when they stopped the Unlimited data for 14.90 plan.. Yes that was just too good to last forever.

Now on LycaMobile (swisscom). Not as cheap but I get much better 4g coverage now and the deal they have right now - top up 200 and get 250 bonus is very good, I probably won't need to top up again for well over a year

Re: Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

I'm a fan of Orange, they have the best tariffs, innovative products (e.g. subscriptions to Zattoo or Spotify through orange include all data traffic) and a network which has largely caught-up with Swisscom in the urban parts of the country. Certainly in Basel, Zurich and the environs I don't see any difference between the two networks (my work phone is on Swisscom) and in the border areas (mainly Lorrach, Weil am Rhein and St Louis) Orange is usually still hanging in there with 3/4G whilst Swisscom has already switched me over to the foreign network.

I would give it a trial for a year and see what you think.

Re: Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

When I looked at the comparable tariffs, Orange was ahead the package, for less money, or alternatively for 12 CHF more pm the handset was included, Swisscon wanted CHF349 for the handset. The only thing I wasn't sure of, was if you took the handset cost in the subscription, at the end of the 2 years does that portion of the monthly payment drop of, so you then just pay your abo?

I recently switched my mobile from M-Budget (Swisscom) to ALDI.
The Smart 50 offer is really worth considering.

They also gave me CHF 50 'joining credit' PLUS CHF 10 for inscription via internet.

Once again, porting was painless.

Oh, and I also got ALDI prepaid for both kids - free calls

Re: Swisscom Customer Loyalty offers

Well I just did it online and switched to Orange, very quick and easy (so far anyway!).

I called Swisscom and said I would leave, and the lady apologised but said her hands were bound and they could only offer me a free phone, no line rental reduction...oh well.

So instead of paying Swisscom 100chf (which rose to 120-140chf) per month, I have taken Orange's unlimited Surf and Talk package for 50chf a month...they also give me a 10chf per month discount as I have my own phone already, so for 40chf a month, what could possibly go wrong?...

So, let's see how smooth the process really turns out to be, but so far, so good...

Don't forget Zattoo HD (Internet TV) is included for free with your package, so download the App and set up an account. Zattoo has all the UK channels and one account works everywhere (PC, Tablet, Phone, SmartTV etc..)

I think they wanted an extra 6 bucks a month for Zattoo, so i left it off - don't really watch TV on the go so much.

It is CHF 6 on the lower tarrifs but you've plumped for Unlimited Surf so its included.

Surf without limits at full speed including 4G in Switzerland. For charges abroad see orange.ch/travel. Data cost protection in Switzerland: when you have used your included data, you are stopped from surfing unless you decide to buy more. See orange.ch/orangeme.
