Blocked from my email address - getting angry now.

Hello you all.

In November last year, after repeated reminder emails from Microsoft, I was requested by Microsoft to go thru a rigmarole to do with my email adress. When I entered my fairly simple password, was advised to include at least some characters - which I did - thus altering my usual password. I did first establish that this was a normal procedure by Microsoft, from friends who are more up-to-date with technology and not a fuddy-duddy like me who hates changes.

Then ....... trying to access this account, I was asked to enter my password - which was NOT accepted. After going thru the ritual a couple of times was told I`m a fraud and have to wait 30 days to try again .....

Now I see I do not receive any messages on this particular email address - my Sunrise a/c. I do receive from the Hotmail one.

So, now I get another email from Microsoft ..... in German ... "Your 30 days waiting time is expired, you may now "bestštig" yourself in another attempt".

So I try again. I ask for a Code They send a code. I enter the code. (as I`m now completely confused why they don`t accept my password).
I enter the code.
They do not accept it.

What do I do now?

I`m lost in the wilderness.

Is there any way to change to a completely different provider? I wouldn't want to go through this fuss repeatedly

Well, I would if I could, if I could understand what is going on........

I just want my nice Swiss Sunrise email address. They can stick their Hotmail address where the monkey keeps his nuts - but somehow it seems Microsoft have blocked my Sunrise mail from coming into my Outlook. Oy fey! Woe is me.

They insist on me having TWO email addresses .... so they can send their code to the one, so I can enter it in the other! And then don`t accept their own code?

Can you not get a more computer savvy friend to come around and do it for you?

So the Hotmail one is the one you can't access at the moment, but you're still able to access your Sunrise address via the Internet? If that's the case, I would contact Sunrise mail support (if there is such a thing) and tell them about the problem.

Is there any option for you to have the code sent to your mobile phone?

Looking through this (answers from Microsoft.com) didn't seem to bring up any useful answers. You have my sympathy

Re: Blocked from my email address - getting angry now.

Are you sure that you're entering the code correctly; or that CapsLock isn't on?

Wont solve your current dilemma, but I would ditch Outlook for something like Thunderbird (Mozilla) for the software, and a handling email client such as GMX - which you can log onto from any location on any computer and view your emails through a browser, with your username and password - as well as on your home computer, in the usual way.
That way you'll never be locked out from seeing your emails, if ever there was a software/hardware problem.

Double certification??? (Or whatever Microsoft call it)

You have to go online (computer), go to your account, generate code, and enter that on your phone.

I can't remember what it is called - but it is fun and games when you are registering Office across multiple Macs and iDevices.

I still actively use my hotmail account - partly because I have, even after 8 years, been too lazy to sort out my domain email addresses and partyly because initial+surname@hotmail isn't too bad an address

Aahhh thank you so much for that link! Now I understand what is going on ....... a "double" security thing.

Spent the entire morning using Google translate and translated every page ...... until I lost the page that said "click here if you don`t want to receive a code every time" .....!!!!!!!

But at least I - with lots of wrangling back and forth ... can now access everything.

Gosh but "civilization" just keeps getting more and more complicated!

Thanks everyone for your input. Much obliged (to be able to share my problem)
