Help with the dreaded PC blue screen

Hello,

Hoping for some help! Any tech guys/gals out there? Or, can you direct me where to go in Zurich (reasonable price)

I have only been able to go to 'safe mode' for a limited period of time to try and figure things out til my laptop crashes shortly thereafter.

I've done a lot of google/YouTube searches, but unfortunately nothing has helped yet.

Top of the screen states:

Win32k.sys
Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

The key identifying number of the problem is: 0x00000050 (as I understand from my research)

Very grateful for any help that can be provided!!

Many thanks

Re: Help with the dreaded PC blue screen

The cause may be a corrupted system file, or it may be hardware failure. What version of Windows? If you have the Windows installation disk, boot from it and choose the repair mode option. I used it recently on a friends pc that wouldn't start up even in safe mode (Windows 7), and though it took about half an hour, everything was restored.

If you can boot for a limited time in Safe Mode, then do so and get your data off.

Re: Help with the dreaded PC blue screen

It could be a memory fault. If there are 2 memory boards installed, try taking one out, checking, maybe moving the remaining one to the other slot, and repeating with the other memory board, to see if the problem goes away.

Another thing to try could be overheating, maybe some dust has clogged a fan which could explain why it starts up but then shuts down again.

If you have a can of air, or more risky a vacuum cleaner, give it a run over the air vents.

Hmmm!

Running windoze!

Bout as much chance as a snowball in hell of diagnosing this.

Can u get a diagnostic disk to boot from?

Ask local pc shop or check online.

You could start by removing/cleaning/replacing all components.

Besto' luck.
