Re: Cable com wifree. .. recent changes?

It's flakey. My iPhone rarely logs on. The password is rejected often. It should log on automatically, but doesn't...

Ditto, I've never got it to work anywhere - on the iPhone I get the login, then "accept dodgy certificate", then "sorry you can't connect".

Same as Ab Fab.

It's a bit annoying; I can be sat on the tram happily using 4G when it decides to ask me for a UPC password because the saved one is wrong.

It's not just you. Most of the time we can't connect even when sitting in our own living room.

You shouldn't be able to connect to your own wifree. I'm pretty sure it's excluded.

I have never had problems until a few days ago where the login format appears to have changed overnight..

not working for me either. I am pretty sure I used to be able to connect to my own - unless it was to a neighbor's. Annoying - I was pretty excited when I first heard about it as I thought it would be like having free wifi everywhere. One can dream...

I've tried it before and it worked. I removed the saved wifi password of my own wlan and connected to the wifree and it worked. Anyway, I got annoyed by the constant disconnection and asking for wifree password and decided to just remove it since I got Orange Me unlimited data. I also felt like turning on the wifree affected my router's performance.

Okay, but our entire building is on Cablecom. There is only one wi-free network listed in the available networks. Is that ours, or someone else's or is it communal for the building and none of us can use it? Not that it's a big deal, as we have our own. More of a curiosity thing.
