sunrise email migration LOL

Hi
I recently got an email from sunrise saying that my email account would soon be migrated from Gmail
So I thought "no worries" I had made all the necessary changes to my email account a long time ago.

Anyway this evening I started up my email and it tells me it is downloading 95K+ emails into my sunrise inbox account. I see the earliest email is the one that opened my sunrise account back in 2008.
I have a POP email account not IMAP so I am surprised sunrise can find these emails. I have it set to keep messages on the serve rfor 14 days.
I use Thunderbird for email and I have email accounts with several providers but it is only sunrise that is downloading.
I suppose the next thing will be my sunrise inbox will crash because sooner or later it will be too large?
I do not see a way to pause the download?

What it is to be so popular.

On my Android device, I'm still getting emails from 1970, on a regular basis.

Re: sunrise email migration LOL

I eventually realised that I could pause the email program by simply switching off the WiFi.

Then I ran the Thunderbird compact function and started WiFi again. The email download continued for a while but now it is stuck in the middle of 2012 and has downloaded the same email 61 times

I also use TB, but with GMX as the email client.

What works well, with GMX, is that you can access your account on their server, via a browser and just zap any emails directly, without downloading to laptop and TB.

But I guess, yours was just a one-off migration.

Re: sunrise email migration LOL

So Thunderbird eventualy ran normally and I forgot about this problem that it had downloaded all my 95K email messages from back to 2008.

Until this morning when it started downloading the 95K email messages again, so far 22,000 arrived.

I do not understand where it is finding these emails. I have a POP connection and I have it set to only keep email on the server for 28 days (see attached photo).

Any TB expert out there who could suggest another or better setting to lose these old emails?
