Additional memory for Ipad

Has anybody tried these wireless media hubs that take an SD card and connect with your Ipad via wireless to extend the memory?

What did you think of it?
Easy to use?
Performance OK?

Re: Additional memory for Ipad

I use iTunes Match. That freed up a load of memory on my iPad.

It's an LTE model with no data limit in Switzerland, mind you.

Re: Additional memory for Ipad

So it seems that the iPad is designed to milk every last penny out of buyers. You see, having a flush-mounted SD card slot would allow consumers to get away with buying the 16GB model and increasing the storage themselves. That’s clearly not in Apple’s financial favor, but it’s not like anyone expected Apple to look out for the buyer anyway

I bought a 'fuel' 1tb disk with a wireless router built into it so you could pair it with your iPad for almost unlimited storage and its crap, the wireless speed is too slow causing glitching or just straight pauses. It's joined the boxes of 'wont throw out because I might use it but never will really' upstairs along the ps2 mice and keyboards!

Re: Additional memory for Ipad

I set up an old busted up mac as a server, made an account available with acccess to WebDav, CalDav and CardDav. Used a dynamic DNS to point to my network.

This can then syncronise all my contacts and calanders across all devices, plus I then use Goodreader to access my files from the WebDav account and from there pass them onto the relevant app.

It's basically my homebrewed personal cloud, and works from wherever I have internet access.

Naturally all connections are encrypted.
