I went on a exploratory stroll down to the lake and found that a number of apparent free WiFi spots are either not switched on (switched on perhaps only for summer) or faulty.
I came across the following article & municipality website detailing this free service but found it to be out of action. http://www.geneva.info/free-wifi/ http://www.ville-geneve.ch/themes/en...s-verts/acces/
Given the costs of mobile data through the usual Sunrise/Orange[Salt] networks (not to mention the other dominate Telstra like enterprise) I thought I should utilise these services - however their not active.
I walked right around the southern end of the lake comprising Jardin Anglais right up and past the Jet and wasn't able to find the '((o)) Geneve Ville' network anywhere.
Does anyone know if this is still active? or perhaps it's a seasonal service only.
