Poor service by Orange

I am using Orange since last 3 months and facing troubles in receiving signals in Neuchatel city, only one dead signal, tried different phones, but all in vain.
Even in the city centre, it is no different. Last week i went to ETH Zurich, to my surprise, in the main campus, there was No Service.

I asked help line and they apologized after various lame excuses. Then i asked to terminate the contract, the contract team replied that you have to pay the penalty fees for it.

Is there any solution for this? I am having an iPhone from Orange too.

AbFab: I checked it clearly before purchasing the SIM. They claim to have full coverage in Neuchatel city. But it is not like that in real.

I have no problems with orange ( sorry Salt) coverage in Neuchâtel at all. The city gives a full strength signal as does Marin and the village that I live in. It's loads better than Sunrise which I had before as I rarely had a signal at all at home and when I did I had to go out and walk half way down the garden before being able to hear what people were saying.

The only place that there is a poor/absent signal from Orange in my experience anywhere in the Neuchâtel area has been in Cortaillod and that's due to the fact the the commune refused permission for anyone other than Swisscom to install a mast there.

Re: Poor service by Orange

If you have a shit signal the you need an Indoor Box to boost the signal.
Orange was giving these out free to business. I am not sure about personal
customers. And SALT well... no idea.

Re: Poor service by Orange

I am not surprised about the lack of coverage. In AbFab's map link, I should be having the 4G etc etc, but my cell phone currently shows none. And this has always been the case...

I've had the same experience outside of Zurich. Salt's coverage map supposedly covers the area, but I've had nothing but dropped calls & EDGE coverage only.

In Neuchatel main city, in hospital, shopping centres especially in basements, Salt is always dead. I am fed up with this poor service.

I called their helpline to cancel the contract, they said you cant. how i can?

It's fine everywhere for me even in the car park under the Maladiere centre although I would understand if there wasn't a great signal there given that there is a shopping centre and a football stadium above it.
The signal is not very good at the hospital but it's still better than my husband gets on his Swisscom hone in the same place.

Oh really, actually i went to see someone in Emergency at first floor of hospital, there was no service. Then i went to Chomage office building, there was no service, then i went a building behind Uni de Neuchatel main campus, there was no signal. Even at my residence, i have one dead signal and i have to come out to talk. Right now, i am at University library, front of Cassino Neuchatel, have one dead signal which may die while i am on a call. I checked with a friend who is on swisscom, it was not the case with him at above few places.
thanks for help.

Have you checked your phone? Maybe there's a problem with the actual phone itself.
I spent over five hours in the emergency department at the hospital and had no signal problems at all.

Re: Poor service by Orange

Look at your phone settings for the network. If you don't understand the settings, go to the SALT shop and ask them for help.
