sky hard drive

Morning all,

Does anyone know if movies that have been recorded onto the hard drive on a Sky box stay there after stopping subscription to Sky movies, or do Sky manage to delete them once you dont subscribe to the movie channels anymore?

Re: sky hard drive

Yes I discovered this some time ago when Sky F' up my subscription. I ended up with Sports instead of Movies and could not access movies I recorded.

You can put the disc in another box with access and then transfer the movies off the hard drive to a DVD recorder with Harddrive.

There is also a piece of software on the Web (free) that copies your recordings to another Hard drive, i.e. if you want to install a bigger hard drive. BUT it does not let you view them etc... the drive you copy to has to be put into a Sky box to view. I did this to go from 160 to 250Gb.

Re: sky hard drive

Ta for that info, but the buggers have stopped the movies already and blocked access to the ones we've recorded. Movie subscription was supposed to end the 10th May, but they cut them off last night......10 mins before the end of a film my mum was enjoying watching.
