How can I use my iphone in the other conuntry in EU?

Hello, thank you for watcing my question.

I'm a Japanese woman living in Vevey from the last year.
I'm looking for the way to get something like a pocket wi-fi.
During coming return to Japan, I always rent and use it. It makes my iphone which I got in Swiss work in Japan without any problem.

If you don't understand my English because of my poor English.
I mean, I just want to use my iphone in the other european countries for the travel.
I have never seen a poket wi-fi here.

Is there anybody to let me know the way to solve it?

I have a TP-Link M5350 pocket WiFi that I bought here.

I have a Wind SIM for Italy (EUR 9/month), or just pop in the SIM from my phone when on the train.

Your iPhone which you bought in Switzerland will work in any european countries and most part of the world, as long as it using the GSM technology and have similar band frequencies (differences may appear in 4G band between countries).

If you want to avoid roaming, then you might consider to buy prepay card from telecom operator in respective countries you are going to visit.

If you dont want to change number/sim cards, there are certain prepay package or Abonement from several local operator which give you some amount of calls/sms/data to be used while roaming.

Re: How can I use my iphone in the other conuntry in EU?

Yes, my iphone is one which I bought in Switzerland at swisscom.
Every time I over the border, siwsscom gives me SMS about roaming, but I don't understand it well.
My most concern is the cost, and then the usability. Also I want to use my sim.

I'm going to ask swisscom about roaming and theim compere the difference on mobile wifi with roaming.

Thank you for your adovice.

Re: How can I use my iphone in the other conuntry in EU?

Definitely buy a prepaid SIM in the country you are visiting. Roaming can cost a fortune on a Swiss prepaid SIM card. I had over 110 Fr on my Easy" pre-paid card but when Nokia had to replace my old phone with a new model (the wiring around the USB charging socket failed) it had several different settings and after 24 hours without using my phone for any reason at all, I got an SMS that I had less than 10 Fr. left on it. I called Swisscom and the techy checked things and, bless him, because we are such good customers (been very satisfied customers of Swisscom non-stop since the mid-1970s) they upped my prepaid credit back again and told me which setting - the Roaming setting - to change, resp. to switch off.

So, you want to keep the sim card, then you need to buy some roaming package from Swisscom. They are, in my opinion, not cheap though. I think the idea with the mobile WiFi ist perfect. You can buy local sim card with data service in respective country you are visiting. There still be cost for sms and calls though (incoming/outgoing). But i think these days, you can replace SMS/Calls using same feature of some apps like Whatsapp, Line, Viber, etc... etc...

A couple things to remember:

1) Make sure that you turn it off when not in the home zone of whatever SIM you are using.

2) Make sure that any devices that you use with it have "automatic updates" turned off!

Thak you, I'll keep them in mind!
Does your M5350 works well everywhere you have been and do you feel enough?
I was thinking to buy M7350, but it seems to be non-stock on any online shops. If M5350 is enough, I'm happy because I can save my money.
I'm going to use a mobile wifi for nomal daily use such as searching something on internet, send emails.

We've used it many times throughout Italy, and on the train from Lugano to Zurich, with multiple (4-5) users, works great.

I got mine online, probably from BRACK.
