Best pre-pay mobile plan for visiting family? (smartphone)

Sorry if this has been covered anywhere, but I couldn't find it. Has anyone recently investigated the best deal for short-term visitors to Switzerland (max 30 days)? Swisscom has some data packages but you need to be a Natel "subscriber" and it appears there's an auto-billng feature, rather than a true, pay-as-you-go plan.

Any thoughts appreciated. FWIW, this would be for an iPhone 5 or 6, and call and text aren't nearly as important as cheap data.

Thanks.

For data, lyca is cheapest prepaid. Coop prepaid is nice as well since it provide free coop to coop calls.

I believe (but am not 100% certain) that SIM cards can only be obtained from Swiss providers with a valid, current Swiss address and resident status.

Do you have legitimate contacts here who met the above requirements and could get a SIM on you behalf?

For short term visits, supermarkets are as good as main network providers - ALDI, Migros (M-Budget).

Data or calls most important? I've been using Lycamobile as the coverage is good and data packages very cheap- chf 12 for 2GB. It's sufficiently stable to use Skype to make calls. But surprisingly expensive to call Swiss numbers (45 RP per min )

Re: Best pre-pay mobile plan for visiting family? (smartphone)

Thanks for the replies. To be clear, I'm looking for a pay as you go (PAYG) plan for a non-resident of CH, mostly for data. I know tourists can buy PAYG SIM cards in CH, as I've done it myself with Salt/Orange.

I'll look further into the Lyca option, looks like a good deal if it's available to tourists, especially if the account can be opened at various locations (InterDiscount, Coop, SBB, etc).

Have a look at Coop Mobile. Their prepaid (Pay as you go) SIM card costs CHF 15.- (sometimes they sell them even for 5.-) including CHF 15.- credit, and in the first month after activation, you have 500 MB for free.
After that, they have packages: CHF 9.90 for 500 MB, CHF 24.90 for 1.5 GB.
Plus you can call all Coop Mobile and Salt (ex-Orange) mobile phones for free (up to 3000 minutes per month).

Lebara also have several data plans:

Their SIM card is available for free, with no credit, and you must then top it up (Guthaben kaufen).
