But is changing from swisscom to sunrise worth it? The yello one looks great that's what I'd like to go for
I was Salt paying a 95.-/month Abo when I later found out about Das Abo (powered by Slat). Once the minimum contract was ending I went straight to the Post

(It's Post whos promoting Das Abo and yallo Postpaid (powered by sunrise)).

They said I couldn't mantain the number since I already had a Salt number, but I would have still to switch if I wanted Das Abo, but not in the case of yallo postpaid which I by then didn't knew about.

I'm happy with this abo I got (yallo postpaid). Now it depends what your needs are

Coop Mobile Abo also offer the same. CHF 29.90/Month for unlimited calls, text, data. I am tempted, but with my experience of using ex orange network, I am happy to stay with my M-Budget One and Lycamobile Prepaid..
I don't think you really got unlimited data (full speed) with the others one like Coop Mobile or M-budget?
Also an interesting feature from Salt is their Hello europe option, it adds unlimited calls to all european countries (fix and mobile number) for 15f per month. Shame it doesn't include SMS...but i guess what app is good enough.

Don't! It's a trap!

Get either Das Abo or yallo postpaid
Yes a few caveats:
- you pay 40chf for a new sim and it's not refunded even if you resign within first 6 weeks
- you transfered the number so if you resign during the trial they can only offer you a free prepaid Salt but you have to make a new activation with the former provider if you wish to go back
- there's no option for early break of the contract, people at salt stores say that you can for a fee 100chf but it is not confirmed anywhere on writing!
- after initial contract the abo renewes every month but to cancel it you have to give a notice 60 days in advance
- the last: thons of posts from unhappy customers dealing with their customer service

That indeed put me off. I am in a need for an internet access but I think I will go for little more expensive but traditional cable

What is internet recption like with Yeallo Postpaid? The flat rate with no contract seems amazing, especially the whatsapp usage not counting towards data allowance.

Re: Salt Christmas offer, 29/month, all unlimited

In this Salt plan, can we create a Hotspot for the computer (tethering) and have always the full speed? I need unlimited data but I can't deal with the "reduced speed after 'X' GB".

Well, you can obviously have tethering with full speed until your data allowance runs out`or you purchase additional GB's. Or am I mis-understanding the question?

Some providers announce "unlimited" data plans but after 1 GB of usage the connection speed drops to 128kbps, which is barely usable these days. Or am I wrong and this plan doesn't feature unlimited data in the first place?

I think it is pretty clear. The data is unlimited, but only has the full speed up to 1GB or 2GB (depending on the plan) and when you use that amount it will go down to the slower speeds.

Well, I'm not saying otherwise. I was confirming that by asking you guys because I didn't see that information anywhere on Salt's website. Can you post the link to that details?

I'm not going to go look it up for you, just check in the terms and conditions to see if it has this clause or not, its usually pretty easy to find.

You were the one who stated that the speeds would drop and even added the fact that it was pretty clear. Since you were so confident I thought you read that somewhere but I clearly misread the situation here, sorry. I looked, believe me, but I couldn't find any info about that.

I think we had a miscommunication. If the tarriff doesn't explicitly state that it drops in speed then it doesn't... if it does then it does. I didn't do specific research on the tariff you are interested in, I was just speaking generally.

Yeah, that's why I asked in the first place, because I'm having a hard time finding that myself. But thank you anyway, appreciated.

Well, that's the most wierd thing @R1C, they publish only one document "general terms and conditions" which does not cover so many things: termination condition (including termination before end of minimum period), any guaranteed minimum quality and continuity of internet connection etc.

I have listed some negative points yesterday, post a few posts above.

Another strange thing is that they keep reneving the offer since the beginning of December each time creating the feeling that's the last chance which will last only a few days... it almost worked with me but I gave up last time.

What's most important to me is to have clear, in writing, the conditions of termination. Sales people tend to say that it will be possible and it will cost only 100chf fee, but on the other hand you can find posts from people which were refused to cancel but had to pay the sum of monthlies until the end of nminimal period.

Is there anyone who already ordered a contract with Salt? Can you share if they send a proper precise Terms and Conditions together with the SIM and the contract papers? I would like to get a copy of such to verify before I would release my phone number and then...

As a matter of fact 2 years is a long period. I can leave Swiss before that time elapses. Most importantly however, the network/internet quality can drop significantly after a few months due to more subscribers and power cuts to save costs of operation. The last happened in my home country, an operator going underwater financially made the network pause every few seconds/miliseconds... efectively speed droped to ~4Mbps for all subscribers and no one could do anything but wait til the end of the contract and complain in the meanwhile.

Re: Salt Christmas offer, 29/month, all unlimited

Regarding TOC, I have found the answer. The "christmas special" page is somewhat hard to guess what's going on but you can go to order a normal price and before you click the final confirm the full contract and TOC are given to you I assume that the "special" deal means all the conditions are the same except the price.

The amendment to the General Terms and Conditions which is added to the Plus Swiss contract:

I agree to the Salt General Terms and Conditions and confirm that I will pay all costs for the use of the SIM cards covered by this subscription contract ('Contract'). This Contract will begin on the later of the following two dates, subject to a positive outcome of the final credit-rating check by Salt: the date I sign this document or, if it is a renewal of the Contract, the end date of the current minimum contract period. This Contract is concluded for the minimum period shown and will extend for subsequent 1 month periods. Contracts with a minimum period of 12 or 24 months may be terminated with a notice period of 60 days to the end of the minimum period or any extension. For Contracts with a minimum period of 1 month the notice period is 30 days. If the Contract is terminated before the end of the minimum period or any extension, the following amounts will be payable: CHF 100.– per 12/24-month Contract without a device; CHF 300.– per 12-month Contract with a device; CHF 500.– per 24-month Contract with a device; CHF 600.– per 12-month Contract with an Apple device; CHF 800.– per 24-month Contract with an Apple device. If the Multi Surf service is terminated during the minimum period, I will be liable to pay Salt CHF 240.− per Multi Surf SIM card. If I purchase a device through an instalment plan, I agree to pay 12 or 24 monthly instalments (payment in 24 instalments is only available with a 24-month subscription). If I end the associated subscription early, the total amount owing under the instalment plan is payable immediately. On the day of my 30th birthday, my Young Contract will be automatically transferred to a similar Contract.

Re: Salt Christmas offer, 29/month, all unlimited

ouch... I ordered this thing back in December, but it seemed too good to be true. I still have the order papers, but when I called 2 weeks ago (12 weeks after the order), they couldn't find my order at all.

I could still makde the deal as I have the confirmations in my mailbox, but the Yallo Postpaid by Sunrise looks much better in terms of free calling to our home country and basically also unlimited data.

Yallo roaming 10CHF/100MB/10 days
Das Abo roaming pretty unclear and includes 10MB of data. What is 10MB? 3-5 pictures...

Previously (2-3 yrs back), Sunrise wasn't a very good provider in terms of network coverage and data speeds. Has this changed at all, having Federer claim that "they have the best networks of Switzerland" for some time now?

Prices are the same 39.- per month - so... Das Abo (Salt) oder Yallo (Sunrise)? I'm leaning toward Sunrise and Yallo.

Have you seen Lyca mobiles offers? They are pretty damn badass... http://www.lycamobile.ch/en/bundle?id=4

If they have Mobile ID I would switch... sadly they don't so M-budget is looking like my only option for a Swiscom-based network with MobileID.

I subscribed to the Salt Christmas offer and it's working perfectly for me. Just used 12 GB of data in the last few days. The internets is pretty fast as well.
